It was 3 in the afternoon, and the children were playing outside the orphanage. Meanwhile, young Naseria was inside her room, plucking the petals of the flowers given to her earlier by Sister Albi, whom she was close to.

She silently hummed and sang a nursery rhyme that only she could understand. No one else could hear her since everyone was outside.

The nuns were busy because an important visitor was expected in the afternoon. The children accompanying Naseria in the orphanage was happily playing outside.

Naseria continued humming and singing the nursery rhyme titled "Hickory Dickory Dock."

“Hickory Dickory Dock
The mouse ran up the clock
The clock struck one
The mouse ran down
Hickory Dickory Dock.”

While slowly singing the nursery rhyme, she also plucked the petals of the flower she held. It was a jasmine flower, which was popular in this world.

“Hickory Dickory Dock
The mouse ran up the clock
The clock struck two
The mouse went ‘boo!’”

She paused at "boo" when she heard a knock on the door.

“Hickory Dickory Dock,” she continued the song right after the door opened.

Sister Albi entered with a gentle smile on her face and approached Naseria.

“Some visitors wanted to meet you. Are you ready?" she affectionately asked Naseria.

The child stared at her intently. After two minutes, she nodded and held Sister Albi's hand. The nun let out a deep breath of relief.

Ever since Naseria had grown up, she had become quiet. Her cheerful nature had disappeared.

Despite being only eight years old, the child was often forgotten by the nuns due to her mature behavior and way of speaking.

This worried Sister Albi. She feared that Naseria might be distanced by everyone because of it. Naseria was a talented and intelligent child. She can see a bright future ahead of the child.

Sister Albi worried that if Naseria heard what others might say about her, she would lose confidence in herself.

Sister Albi's grip on Naseria's hand tightened. Naseria felt it but remained silent. It wasn't painful; it was more like she didn't want to let go.

She understood what was going through sister Albi's mind because she felt the same way about herself.

Naseria decided to vary her behavior so that when she grew up, no one would be surprised by her sudden mood swings.

They should be grateful that Naseria was making an effort to make things easier for everyone in the coming years.

Naseria and Sister Albi entered the living room of the orphanage together. Seated there were the two nuns who held important positions in the orphanage, Sister K and Sister Dianne. In front of them were people dressed in extravagant attire.

On the left side, the Anderson couple was seated. They were dressed lavishly, but without any visible jewelry. The man had a stern expression, while his wife wore a beautiful smile on her face.

On the right side were the Chamberlain couple. They were both dressed extravagantly, with expensive-looking outfits. The woman adorned herself with numerous pieces of jewelry. Both of them had wide smiles on their lips.

Naseria, upon seeing them, was almost disgusted. Ha! If she didn't know their true personalities, she might have been swayed by their fake smiles as well. No wonder they were quickly chosen by the intelligent but naive original Naseria.
