Eileen's POV
My birthday is in two days and I'm definitely not in the mood of celebrating it because I don't feel like it.
I'm now seven months pregnant and my stomach hurts every morning. When I hit my sixth month, it just grew bigger all of a sudden."I really don't think you should be here E." Jabari says as I settle in my section at work.
"Am I handicapped?" I ask and he just sighs. "Exactly. A pregnant woman can still go to work."
"I still think that you should get that maternity leave ." He says but I wave him off and touch my stomach that is now showing.
These seven months in pregnancy haven't been easy for me and all I can say is that I didn't expect it to be this difficult, first it's the morning sickness then it's the bloating and heart burn adding onto that, it's the mood swings. I'm still working because home can get boring and atleast I get to interact with Jabari and other workmates.
"I'll take it when my body feels like it." I shrug and begin to go through the scripts to be edited.
At the end of the day, Jabari drops me off home since I'm not yet used to driving alone.
Micah texts me asking if he can come pick me up so that we can hang out together and I agree since we started getting closer again after the baby shower. We've been going out on casual dates from now and then but we both know that those dates have been nothing like casual. They're always intimate."Eileen, Micah is here." Mom knocks at my door while getting in as I adjust the dress I've decided to wear.
"Alright, I'll be down in a minute."
"You look beautiful darling." Mom says while looking at me. Our relationship has been a work in progress and we're getting back to how we used to be.
"Thanks mom." I smile lightly and she nods her head then steps out.
When Micah told me about what happened with Martha, I had to talk to Mr.Chan and make sure that she was being handled because I couldn't stand what she did to him. I know how vulnerable he can get and when he told me what she did, I totally believed him and I felt so bad for him.
I get downstairs and find Micah seated in the living room with a small gift bag besides him.
"Hi." I make my presence known. He stands up and smiles gently at me."Hi. How you feelin'?" He asks while walking to me with the gift bag in hand and he looks like he has just left work because he's still in his white dress shirt which is folded upto his biceps so I'm guessing he removed his tie too since the first four buttons are undone plus the black pants with his signature black dress shoes .
"I'm okay for now. What's that?" I point to the gift bag.
"Just something for you. Happy early birthday." He hands me the gift bag and I eagerly open it finding a gold tennis bracelet with a heart pendant. It looks expensive too.
"You're spoiling me." I tell him considering he has been giving me gifts every now and then. He puts the bracelet on my wrist and I can't keep myself from admiring it.
"You deserve it." He says in his deep voice and I look up at him.
"Thank you Micah." I hug him then kiss his cheek.
"You're welcome." He wraps his hands around my waist and pulls me closer to him. He pulls away then looks down at me and licks his lips then steps away from me completely . "Ready to go?"
"Yeah, where are we going this time?"
"I saw this small restaurant on the outskirts of the city, thought we should try it."
