Chapter 18: A Hero Like You

I deliver the final blow to Ganondorf, and Zelda re-appears.

"Oh, Link! I'm so glad you were able to save me! I saw your whole journey to be here! Now Hyrule is finally safe again!"

"Wait... you saw everything?"  I ask worriedly.

"Yes. Everything. Even the sex-stuff." After she says that, my heart practically stops. "It's okay Link. We all need some... physical fulfillment... in our lives." I just nod in response. "Well, shoo! you need to get back home to your husband, and I need to fix this mess." She motions around herself at Hyrule castle.

After a month, I'm finally headed back to a place I can call home. At dawn on my third day of travel, I see Sidon waiting by the bridge. I run the remaining 50 meters to reach him.

"Link! I've been waiting for you!" He gets down on his knees so I can hug him easier.

"Hah! You said it Sidon!" Yona walks past. "Sidon spends hours each morning waiting for you!"

"Yona! you didn't have to tell him!" Sidon's voice shows embarrassment.

"It's okay, I would have done the same for you." I reply, and go in for a kiss.

"Aww! So cute" yona exclaims. We give her a dirty glare. "Sheesh!" She walks away and minds her own business. 

"I knew you had succeeded when I saw the castle descend from the sky. But I never had a doubt in you anyway." We both stand back up, and walk to our room. On our way there, I can't help but notice that the Domain is doing better than ever. All the unease seems to have faded away. People smile as we cross by, and kids are once again playing freely. Then I feel a little tug on my pant leg.

" 'Scuse me mister." I turn around and see a little Zora. "My little sister wants to talk to you. He points to a small Zora girl hiding behind her mother. she is holding a paper close to her chest.

"Oh! Sure thing!" I walk over, and crouch down to the girl's level.

"H-hi." She peeps. "I-I think that you're r-really c-cool, and I made you a picture. Mommy wrote the words." She hands over the paper. I flip it over, and my heart stops. It's a little sketch of me in the Zora armor standing proud with the master sword. It's colored in with crayons, And in beautiful print, it says, "Thank you for Fighting the sludge and saving the domain Mr. Link! From, Lahruna"

"I want to be a hero like you one day, Mr. Link!" She waddles over and hugs me.

"Thank you!" I exclaim. "The kind gesture moved me. To have kids look up to me, is a true gift. She runs back over to her mother again, and waves goodbye to me. I smile, and stand back up.

"What did she give you?" Sidon asks. I show him the image. "Aww. So sweet!"

"I know right? We're gonna have to get this framed." We walk back to the room, and put the picture on one of Sidon's shelves. 

"So... how were the Gorons?" Sidon asks trying to start a conversation.

"They were fine. After I broke a ton of rocks."

"Breaking rocks?"

"They were evil rocks."

"You broke evil rocks to help the Gorons?"

"Uh... yeah. You had sludge, the Rito had a blizzard, the Gerudo had excessive sand, and Gorons had evil rocks. And some pirates in Lurelin village if those count."

"Excessive sand and evil rocks?"

"Well... It made more sense in person." I laugh a little, then sit down on the bed. "I'm glad it's all over now. I can finally settle down with you. Even start a family! I just want to thank you Sidon. For everything you have done." Sidon sits next to me and holds my hand. 

"Nah. We did this all together."  He gets close to my face, and I kiss him. When he tries to pull away, I bring him back. Then when we're done, Sidon sighs.

"What is it?" I ask.

"Ah, it's nothing."

"I know something's on your mind."

"It's just. I wonder about the future. I'm honestly kind of scared."

"What about it?"

"I want to be the best father I can be, but I also want to put my focus into the upkeep of the kingdom." I understand what he means.

"Honestly, I'm scared too. But we still have a lot of time to figure out how to keep this kingdom running. You appear to be doing a good job with it." Sidon smiles bashfully at that remark.

"Thank you."
