We all stare awkwardly at each other. We have to figure this parenting thing out fast.

"I'll travel around and see if I can find anything." Yona finally offers. She starts to wander the Domain, just in time for Fipia to start crying.

"Sheesh! What does she want?" I ask myself.

"She's probably hungry." Sidon looks at me and smirks.

I take a step back. "Oh no. I am not doing this!"

"Sorry, you've got no choice." I roll my eyes at my husband, and walk back up to our room. I sit down, take off my shirt, and brace myself for what happens next.

Sidon:

Neither of us knew what we were getting into with this whole parenting thing. Our lack of preparation is kind of hilarious. In about fifteen minutes, Link and Yona come back almost simultaneously. Link appears to be in pain, and I can see the residue of tears across his cheeks.

"Link! Are you okay?" I ask.

"I have been bitten in places I didn't know existed, and I suddenly have a newfound respect for cows." He replies.

"Well. That's special. Anyway, I have diapers!" We both look at Yona like she is an absolute GOD.

We get Fipia into a diaper before she can shit herself, and then take turns thanking Yona for "Her courageous act." She gets us to calm down eventually, but we will never stop being thankful.

"Gosh, boys! You really are helpless." Yona laughs at her own remark. Then Link gives me the que to cover Fipia's ears.

Link:

"HELPLESS!?!? REALLY!?!? I FUCKING GAVE BIRTH, AND HAD MY NIPPLES BITTEN OFF!!! YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS TO CALL ME HELPLESS!!!"  YOU BITCH!!!" I stick my middle finger out at Yona. Fipia giggles and mimics the motion. "Oops." I peep.

"What did we just teach our child." Sidon sighs.

"Boys. What am I gonna do with them." Yona shakes her head and walks off. Fipia holds both of her middle fingers high in the sky. I push them back down. For her just to stick them back up again. We continue his until Fipia finally gives up.

Sidon:

"Good thing babies have a short term memory." I tell Link.

"Something tells me she is going to remember that." Link retorts. He heads back up to the bedroom to put the baby to sleep. He returns a few minutes later.

"You now what, I think I'm getting the hang of this." He stands proud.

"We can say that now, but the future is still for us to discover. Let's enjoy every small victory. Every moment. Everything that makes our kingdom." I pause. "Our family better." I stare into the distance as I see the the sun shrink behind the horizon, and the water glimmers. I hold Link's hand. We sit down and watch the sunset. Link hears the baby cry back upstairs, and sighs.

"I'll get her." He walks back up the stairs, grabs Fipia, and comes back down and sits next to me. He yawns. And he and Fipia continue their middle-finger battle, until Link falls asleep on me. I let a smile cross my face, as I drift off too.
