EVANGELINA
"What are you doing out here alone?" Amelio asked suddenly.
I stepped away from the swarm, swallowing hard a bit. Amelio looked like he belonged to this place, but still, he could scare the poor creatures away. I didn't know, but it was just a thought stuck in my head.
With a shrug, I said, "I just wanted to get some air. It was a bit stuffy inside, and I...'
He raised his hand, silencing the rest of my words. "Stuffy? I didn't bring you here, so you can say your fancy words whenever you please, Evangelina. You're here to serve my brother, and you must do it to the max. The poor guy is alone, feeling bad that he doesn't have someone to talk to. But, you're here, thinking that this place somehow revolves around you, and you can do whatever you want at any time."
I shook my hand in front of me. "No, you're mistaken. I just..."
He stepped closer to me, causing me to inch back a bit. The look on his face was brutal, and for a minute, I was scared that he might hit me. I hoped deep down in my heart that it would not come to that.
"I'm mistaken? If that is so, why are you here then? Answer me!"
I bit my lips lightly as I lifted my hands in a plea. "Mr Erico didn't want me to be there by his side, and I thought it would be nice to take a deep breath. That is what happened, Don," I whispered.
"Get out!"
I sighed as I walked away from Amelio and his coldness. I didn't understand the man, and it would be foolishness to try to get him after all these days. He only did what he liked to do and didn't care about anyone other than himself. That was not the type of person you could expect anything from.
Holding myself together, I walked into the narrow hall and down the path that led to Erico's room. Damn it! The last thing I wanted was to see that man, but it had to be done.
In front of his room, I couldn't open the door, so I walked over to my room instead, closing it quietly behind me. I moved quickly to the small mirror at the door's side, peering at my reflection. I looked horrible.
"Why do I have to tolerate Erico?" I whispered to myself.
The strong woman I was would have done something, anything, to kick against this abuse, but I was here, tolerating it.
I let my hands comb my neck slowly. Amelio's face came into my mind, and it was all the answer I needed. He was different from Raimundo, and heavens knew what he would do to me if I tried to escape. I didn't want to figure that out.
"This is bad," I whispered as I turned around, resting my butt against the shelf. My eyes moved to the adjacent door, where Erico was probably playing with his pet.
"I can do this," I whispered as I pulled myself straight and walked out of my room.
My fingers wrapped around the door twice before pulling it open. I did not bring myself to think about what to say or do. Erico was in front of me. He was on his knees as he whistled to his pet.
"Eh, I'm sorry to disturb you, but I thought you might need something," I said lamely.
He caressed the hamster a little before he turned to face me. His face was slightly distorted with colors, and I wondered if he had decided it would be his sketchbook for the day.
"I'm sorry," he said suddenly, taking me off-guard.
"What?" I managed.
He looked back at the pet and made it go his way before rising to his feet. I stared at him as I tried not to think about what had happened earlier in the morning. But the image of pulling my top up for him to look at wouldn't leave me.
Erico smiled sadly. "I know that I did the wrong thing by making you lift your top for me, and I apologize for it. Please, don't let my brother know about it," he said quickly.
I nodded rapidly. "I won't speak on it. I know that you wouldn't try to hurt me again."
His smile pulled into a huge one. "I'm glad that you have full faith in me, and I hope that it continues this way."
I hope so, too...
Looking around the room, I noticed that his food was untouched, and I calmly made my way to it. "Let's forget about all that. Why haven't you eaten your breakfast? If your brother sees it, it could be a problem for both of us. You know how much he doesn't want you to lack anything," I whispered.
Erico's laughter sounded behind me. It felt so harmless, like a child, and I hoped he would get well soon. His sickness made him do things that he shouldn't be doing, and he was repenting for it. Hopefully, Amelio gets the best doctor for him to set him right.
"You're quite funny, but if I need to eat, I will," he said quickly.
I gave him a side look. "So, you're not eating?"
His lips curled into a cold smile. "Not right now. What I want is to be alone with my thoughts. I like my privacy more, you see," he muttered evenly.
My fingers stalled against the teacup, and I sighed. What should I do?
"My brother doesn't bother with things like that so you can relax, ok?" He asked tersely.
I turned back to him, and he was about to jump on the small bed again. His jolly era was back, and it was slightly disconcerting.
"Ok," I mumbled with a stiff smile on my face. "I would leave you to it."
***
For the tenth time, I pulled a pillow over my ears to shut out the weird sounds that were getting to me. It was unnerving and scary. I pulled the pillow tighter as I shut my eyes, but the sounds didn't stop. Instead, it intensified in volume.
"Ugh!"
I slammed the pillow down as I sat up on the bed. Everywhere was so dark. With a sigh, I stepped down in front of the bed, and I tried to look through the dark, but there was nothing to see. Only the strange feeling that someone was watching me in the dark.
Since I came into this mansion, only the strangeness had pleased me. Trying my best not to curse, I tiptoed around the room and finally got a small torch. I let the light illuminate the darkness. It was not much help, but at least it helped me see.
"Maybe I should check on Erico to see if he was fine?" I mumbled to myself.
With that thought, I walked to the adjacent door and pulled it open an inch. My head went through the parted door, and the first thing I saw made me gasp. Erico was beating his dick so hard, and he was making sounds that were tortured.
What the...
I looked even closer and noted he had a small camera on, and I was in the video. Was the bastard watching the video of me pulling my top off this morning as he fucked himself?
He suddenly looked in my direction, and I found myself slinking into the dark as I choked back a sob.
