EVANGELINA

The girls turned out to be more bubblier than I had thought. They dragged me almost everywhere, and even showed me a hidden area in the kitchen. It was so weird finding these things out, and I hoped we wouldn't get into a problem because of it.

"Shouldn't we stop by now?" I asked softly.

The girls turned to me, pouting lightly like I had wounded them or something. I really didn't understand them. I pulled my hands around me as I tried hard not to let their nonsense affect me even more. They wouldn't be the ones who would get punished if something wrong happened. It was just me because Aemelio wouldn't be able to stand it if anything went wrong, and I couldn't afford for that to happen.

Luisa slapped a hand on my hand as though she wished to reassure me. "I swear, you're more afraid of Aemelio than the rest of us," she teased.

I sighed. "I have to be. He is always so mean most of the time, and you don't understand the hell that I go through most of the time in his hands," I whined as I looked around the hall once more. "Let's not get into all these, and I would just go back to my room. It would feel much better if that happens."

She shook her head as she turned to Bonito and Fiona, giving them a sign that I was a bore.  I looked away from them, not caring what they thought about me. It was nothing new for people to think so badly of me. They had also done so in Raimundo's pack, so I wasn't surprised.

Fiona stepped forward, and Luisa pulled her hand away from my shoulder as though she wished to give us some space. "I understand all that you're saying, Evangelina. But, we've already fixed this thing, don't be a bore now. You keep talking as though only you would be in a problem if you get caught. We would all be in a fix too. So, just cheer up and enjoy. It's not every time that we can move around the house freely, OK?" She pointed out smartly.

The other girls nodded in agreement to her words, and I sighed inwardly. Closing my eyes for a bit, I finally nodded absently. "Ok, I'd continue the tour, but it won't last too long. I'm going crazy right now," I whined.

The girls laughed at that, as they pulled me along the cold halls. The house was bigger than I could ever imagine when I walked on foot. And,
I wasn't so sure if I was going to remember most of these places by tomorrow. It was too much.

"What's that?" I asked as we got to the top of the mansion.

Bonito pulled over, her cheeks flush in excitement. "The pool is located there. Do you want us to go over there ?" She quizzed happily.

I have her a look. "Don't start, OK? If you're trying to give me a panic attack, then it's working at this point," I whined.

The girls laughed as Bonito nudged me with her shoulder. "I was just joking. Look at her face, guys," she teased.

I rolled my eyes as I walked further from her. "I don't think it was so amusing." I mumbled.

As I walked around the pool which was covered with a foil that looked so clean, I noticed that there was another door there. How many hidden doors were in this place? Could it mean that someone could escape from here without being detected?

I turned to the girls, and they were still laughing among themselves. No, I'm not going to ask them such questions. They might get worried that I was trying to set them up or something.

With a sigh, I turned back to the door, and slowly walked to it. My fingers hung over the knob as I slowly planned to open it.

"Evangelina?" A hiss tore at me.

I looked back at once to see the girls looking at me in horror. "What's wrong?" I managed.

They motioned for me to come over, but instead I pointed to the door. "Can I get in here?" I asked softly.

Fiona stepped forward as the other two hastily looked around. "Don't talk nonsense, Evangelina.  You have to come over to my side now. " She whined.

I sighed. It seemed to me that there was no way I could get in there, so I walked back to them. The girls surrounded me at once, pulling at my arm with equal fervour.

"Stop it," I whined.

Fiona hissed. "Why should we? We brought you around to cheer you up, but you're obsessed with putting us into serious trouble. Don't you realize that it would be a problem if the boss sees us here, or noticed our presence?"

I itched the back of my head with a groan. "I didn't know that it was prohibited. You were the one who brought me here on a 'tour', so I'm just obeying your orders," I said evenly.

Luisa sighed as she looked at me. "It's fine. I think we all overreacted, but that room is off limits. You must do well to remember it," she scolded.

I nodded lightly as I looked back at the door. "Ok, I'm not going to get in there. But, what is happening over there that is so scary to see? I mean, you've literally broken all the rules of the Don by taking me into places he had warned against. But, you're so scared of that door, why?"

The girls looked at each other, and sighed. I could see that they were finding it difficult to even say a word about the door.

"Fine, you would rather not tell me. That's OK, I would find out from another source," I informed them smartly.

I made a move to go, but Fiona pulled me back. "No, we would tell you because we don't want you to get into a problem when you ask someone else about this."

I folded my arms across my chest in frustration.  "Ok, I'm listening. "

Bonito stepped forward as she looked around a bit more. "It's rumoured that the boss stacked some hard drugs in there. If anyone crosses there go to the other side, they would die."

My hands fell to the side as those words slid into my veins. "Why would they die? I mean, what killed them?"

She sighed. "The boss did. He hates it when someone intrudes on his private things. So, whoever had disobeyed him was always dead by the next morning."

"You're not joking about this?" I asked quietly.

She shook her head. "I wouldn't lie about things like this," she mumbled.

I swallowed the lump in my throat. "Then, let's get the hell out of here," I mumbled.

This time, they didn't argue with me. We made our way out of there without looking towards the sides. I dragged the girls to the lift, despite their protests, but to me, it would be the fastest way to move through all these halls, and I wasn't sure that I would find it got to trek, considering my circumstances.

The moment we stepped out of the lift, Bruno was right in front of us, tapping away on the phone. I made a sign for the girls to move to the other side, but he lifted his gaze almost immediately, his eyes locking into mine.

I mentally screamed at myself not to flush.

"Why are you three together?" He mumbled as he pointed to each one of us like he was going to fish us out.

But, I didn't know what to say, and the blue shirt he wore today disoriented me. It was so different, and weird on him. It made me wonder if I would easily slip through his fingers this time.
