AEMELIO
"Brother, please don't go too far. I have to handle some delegates, so I'm going to be very busy this time. I hope you understand that much at least," I said softly as I tapped Erico's shirt.
He frowned at me as looked towards the couples dancing on the dance floor. This whole thing was supposed to be for him. I didn't go out of my way to make something so beautiful so that he would sulk and like I had ruined things for him. It was so annoying if he reacted that way.
Taking a deep breath, I touched his hand lightly. "Erico, don't be like this, ok? You're a good boy, and it's important to listen to what I have to say." I tried to reason with him.
Erico suddenly shifted his gaze at me as he pulled his hand from my grasp. "I would rather not be a good boy right now."
"Why would you say that?" I asked softly.
He shook his head from side to side, and I couldn't help looking around to be sure that no one was watching. As much as I loved my brother, I hated how he acted in public. It was too childish and so crazy.
"I'm asking you something, Erico," I mumbled.
He huffed as he placed his hands childishly on his thigh. "Yes, brother. I don't wish to be good anymore. You didn't even tell Evangelina to stay back for my sake. You're so mean to me," he whined.
I rolled my eyes. "All these attitudes you're putting on is just for Evangelina? Are you fucking kidding me, bro?" I asked in disbelief.
Erico pouted, looking back to the couple. I couldn't believe how attached he was to Evangelina already. It seemed to me that she was taking good care of my brother.
Well, I didn't know where she was now. My eyes flicked around the room, but there was no one like her in the crowd from what I could see. And, there was also no sign of Bruno. Whenever I needed him, he was never around. So annoying...
Focus!
I shifted my gaze back at Erico, giving him a small smile, even though he wasn't looking at me. "Evangelina would be here soon. I'm sure she went to fix something. You know how she is such a busy soul sometimes," I tried to soothe.
Erico didn't respond but stared in front of him. "Ok, let me get you the favorite Pineapple Wine you love. It has a pinch of alcohol in it, and that is precisely what you require," I tried to reason with him.
"No, what I require is Evangelina," he cried.
I stood upright, looking out for a maid. I saw one of them serving one of the clients nearest to me. She was red on the face, but I honestly wasn't concerned about that. "Hey," I called out.
She turned in my direction, and I noticed that her hands were shaking badly. It was a miracle that she didn't drop the tray out of fear. I used my finger to signal for her to come over. The maid bowed quickly and tried to leave, but another woman stopped her.
Somehow, she got free of them and came over to me. "Did you see Evangelina around?" I asked at once.
She shook her head. "I'm sorry, sir, but I haven't seen the lady since I started working. But, I could look for her for you," she mumbled.
I shook my head as I grabbed one of the drinks from the tray. "No, that wouldn't be necessary," I mumbled as I drove her off with my fingers.
Looking back at Erico, he was still majorly sulking. If I gave him this drink, hopefully, he wouldn't pull some major stunt that might end up adding to my stress.
Slowly, I bent over to him. "Here is a drink to enjoy while we wait for Evangelina together. It's your birthday, and it's important for you to be happy. "
