The peaceful stroll at this kind of late evening might have been more pleasant to soothe his stressed mind, 𝘐𝘧 he wasn't informed by his informant that there was a sight of group of hilichurs roaming around near, way too near around the border of Mondstat.

Scheming something suspicious. As always.

Though he haven't report this to Jean just yet, he doesn't want to add more on her work thus Kaeya's search is being conducted in an unofficial capacity.

Even if he was tempted to just went back home to the comfort of his warmth bed. He couldn't risk the danger that was lurking around his beloved nation, so as the Cavalry Captain it was his job to protect Mondstat right?

Right.

If not then he has to be prepared of hearing another 𝘐𝘯𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘒𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 coming from his former brother. Kaeya winces before he shake his head softly.

They're not useless now and Kaeya would be sure to prove his brother that they're more capable than ever now.
Still- as Kaeya traversed the forest of Starfell Valley, he couldn't help but feel a rising sense of unease and a gnawing feeling of foreboding deep in the pit of his stomach.

It was as if he had a premonition of something bad was about to happen, and he couldn't shake the ominous sensation that he was walking into a perilous situation. A trap perhaps? Regardless, he was confidence enough to manage whatever danger he will face.

It's not like it was first time anyway.

"aYAa-!"

Kaeya halted his movement and quickly hide behind a tree to observe the scene in front of him. There was hilichurs in sight, normally this wouldn't be a problem for him but what caught his interest was how they were acting.

Five hilichurs were gathered nearby a looming mountain rock. These monsters wasn't the brightest yet the most peculiar aspect of the scene was how the creatures appear to be hovering around the wall behind them as if they were guarding it.

Interesting.

Well 𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 isn't really the word Kaeya could put since they're not really protecting anything, other than their camp and those boxes. All he could see was the wall behind them. A very plain wall.

His informant didn't really stated anything about this, just a hindsight that the hilichurs are doing something out of ordinary and suspicious.

Perhaps, that's the only answer Kaeya can gain then. He take a step forward.

"My, what a pleasant evening isn't it?" He talk sweetly, coming forward to face them. Making them stand on guard immediately upon his arrival.

His sweet greetings seems to have made the hilichurs more aggressive and slightly irritated. Kaeya smirks, a bit amused at how his seemingly innocent act of greeting had actually provoked the monsters' aggression.

"You wouldn't happen to tell me what you guys are plotting now are you?" He raised his sword, titling his head innocently to the side.

He waste no time lunging towards them, wielding his light sword up in the air and crashing on to one of the hilichurs head. The monster instantly disappeared in a sudden burst of dust, and Kaeya swiftly swiped away the remaining dust covering his face. He then swirled his sword around in a sweeping motion before adding a casual

"Now, that wouldn't be so bad-" to himself.

Dodging the arrow from his side, he can see another hilichur with the bow, ready to aim another one. Kaeya's reflexes proved as sharp as his sword as he swiftly dodged the arrow fired from his side, while also continuing to fight the other one in front of him, keeping himself on guard for the remaining hilichurl's attacks.Fighting sword with sword.

"AyAa-" Another one down and so was another. Kaeya turned around again to look at his remaining enemies.

One more. He frowns he swore that there's another-

"Huk-!" Kaeya was momentarily caught off guard as another hilichurl snuck up behind him -from his blind spot, taking him by surprise and successfully attacking and stabbed him with its spear. Kaeya grunts as he immediately stab it back- vanishing afterwards.

He staggered backwards.

Damn.

Kaeya wasn't expecting them to be this stealthy- now that's worrying.

He glance up and there's the last one. Unfortunately another one with the bow, and it had even lit it's arrow on blazing fire. Kaeya huffed annoyedly, he could just easily freeze it right now-
Backing away from his enemy, he accidentally stepped on a box that he had overlooked previously in the midst of the chaos and confusion.

Now taking a closer look at the box, Kaeya soon noticed it had a warning sign stating that it contained explosives. He grimaced.

Oh-

At that moment, the hilichurl continued to press it's attacks, leaving Kaeya with no time to carefully examine the box any further. He quickly strive forward and used his cyro vision to freeze the hilichur turning it into an ice, but by then the arrow was already fired behind him to the explosive boxes.

Kaeya curses to himself.

The explosion happened just as Kaeya turned around, causing him to stagger back a bit and recoil from the sudden blast of noise and smoke. Covering his face from the dust, wincing as the blast cause his eyes to sting a little.

Distressed by the disturbance, bird's and animals started scattering away from the scenes. Perhaps it was even loud enough to be heard from the other knights from afar and make them alert of what's happening in this deep forests. Well even so, it might take a some time- not when he found something unexpected.

Slowly he opened his eyes and his eyes widen slightly in shock. As the smoke was becoming less dense, it has allowed him to see clearly to the big discovery.
The previous plain wall had turned out to be a hidden entrance- perhaps leading to some sort of domain.

"What.."

Kaeya lowered his hand from his face, a bit in dazed for a moment and a little concussion from the previous blasting impact. Still he eyes the tunnel curiously, feeling a bit intrigued by this unexpected discovery.

"Huh, this is certainly become interesting.." He cough a little and wave some of the smoke away.

He take a look at the entrance for a moment, is this what made him feels uneasy? True it was suspicious that there's an unknown domain that the knights haven't marked and discovered yet. Its hidden location had presumably kept it safe from discovery until now. A perfect place for a hideouts for any enemies then.

Kaeya smirk.
