First was the Uzui's place, the retired sound hashira, with his wifes.

Genya has to have walked at least 10 miles before he arrived. The training involved running, push ups, just stuff that would enhance physical strength.

Genya had never seen the sound hashira in person before, he had heard rumors that he was the flashiest hashira, whatever that meant.

The trainees were to all do a lot of exercises, and genya was fully prepared. To be strong, nothing could stop you.
Genya wanted to be like his elder brother so badly, to be strong. Stronger than he was that day at least. Maybe he could have saved his siblings if he was given one more shot.
But that was the past. The extremely painful past. Now was the present. The present where he had to become stronger.

I promise, I will become stronger, and I will earn back your respect. We will defeat muzan and we will be normal brothers again. It will happen. It Will!

Genya thought to himself.

His thoughts were interrupted by a familiar voice.

It was Tanjiro, the man who beheaded upper rank 4.
He was talking to Uzui. Genya heard about it. Almost everyone heard about it. It was the first time in a century that an upper rank was beheaded.
Tanjiro hadn't exactly earned his respect by defeating upper six, but by saving his life from the anger clone of Hantengu. That was certainly worthy of a man's respect.

Whatever, tanjiro was minding his own business, and so should Genya.

The training started with running around the giant coarse, 1000 laps. No biggie.

After that was 1000 arm exercises, 1000 waist exercises, 1000 stretch exercises...

The more Genya thought about what was next, the more he started to realize that the hashira training was going to be a long run.
Literally starting with running.

But to be a hashira, you have to be strong. And this to the strong is nothing. If Genya was going to be who he wanted to be, then that involved working hard. Working to your limit, past your limit. No biggie.
