I'm Sorry... Nemi (Demon Slayer)

Genya didn't think twice, he was doing this. He was ending the torment.
He started falling, but only for a short time untill someone caught his hand.

It was Tanjiro. Again.
He immediately pulled Genya back up.
Genya faced down, Tanjiro couldn't see his face. They were both on their knees.

"Genya! What are you doing?! Why are you doing!? What the hell happened?!"

Genya remained silent.

"Are you ok? Did you trip on something? Don't tell me you..."

...

"Why..."

Genya muttered.

"What?"

"Why!? Why when I have lost the person I cared about more than anything you stop me from ending my torture!?"

Genya got up. His eyes were forming small tears.

"You just want me to suffer, huh!? You an Sanemi. He pretends he doesn't know me then tries to gauge me eyes out, then you stop me from ending my suffering!"

Tanjiro looked at Genya in horror. Genya was gonna kill himself.

"Genya, please, I get it, I lost a lot of family close to me, and I get that's not the same kind of sadness your going through. But I care about you, Gyomei cares about you, and anybody you lost in the past cares about you. If you kill yourself, you go to hell for any kind of murder. And you'll never get to see your loved ones in heaven.

Like my mother? She couldn't control it, but she killed her kids. Maybe she will go to heaven since she couldn't control herself.

Genya thought while Tanjiro listened for anything Genya had to say.

*1 hour later*

Tanjiro and Genya were at Gyomei's estate, eating lunch. They had decided that they wouldn't tell anyone about Genya's suicide attempt.

"When Sanemi tried to gauge your eyes out, I didn't smell any anger on him. Only worry. I think he really does care about you. He just doesn't, or doesn't know how to show it."

Genya was slightly surprised, but it was tainted by his doubt.

"At least that guy can use breathing styles, unlike gun-guy."

When Inosuke said that, Genya tried to fight him. Tanjiro had to separate them by holding Genya's shirt and offering Inosuke food to get him to stop.

For the rest of the night, Genya thought about Sanemi, deciding if he would believe Tanjiro, and that his brother still cared about him. Or that Sanemi really never wanted to see Genya again. But Genya didn't think it was the truth he liked. It never was.
