The fight against upper 1 was difficult, it was almost impossible, but they did it.
Gyomei, Muichiro, Sanemi, and Genya did it.
But at a cost.
Muichiro's torso was sliced in half, while Genya was cut in half down the middle.
Gyomei came to Genya first, upon his knowledge of what was currently happening to Genya, knowing he was likely gonna die.
Genya told Gyomei to tend to muichiro, and that he himself is fine.
Gyomei laid Sanemi down next to Genya before going to muichiro. He knew that both of the young slayers were going to die.
Sanemi laid unconscious,but when he woke up, he was met with his worst fear.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!"
Gyomei turned his head to Sanemi, soon coming to the realization of why he screamed.
What's going on?! His body! It's.. crumbling like a demons! No, no no no no no!
"Big... brother..."
"YOU'RE ALRIGHT, ILL FIGURE SOMETHING OUT! NEMI'S GONNA FIGURE SOMETHING OUT!"
but what could Sanemi do? Genya was fading, the demons effects were worn off, there were no demons around, and there's no way Genya could survive being cut in half.
"Nemi.. I'm sorry... Back then... I'm.. sorry I blamed you.... I'm sorry I was just another pain to pain you already felt..."
"YOU WERE NEVER A PAIN! DON'T DIE, YOU CAN'T DIE BEFORE ME!"
"Thank.. you... For.... Protecting... Me."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY PROTECTING YOU, IDIOT!?"
"I wanted.. to... Protect... You... The way you.... Protected me...
We felt... The same... Because we are.... Brothers... You've had a terrible.... Time... I want... You.... To be happy.... I don't want you to die...
Because... My Nemi.... Is the nicest person.... In the world..."
"AAAAAAHHHHH! IM. BEGGING YOU GOD! PLEASE! PLEASE DON'T TAKE MY LITTLE BROTHER AWAY! IM SORRY! PLEASE!!"
Sanemi screamed with sobs.
"Thank... You.. Nemi."
Genya said before fully fading into dust, and Sanemi couldn't hear his little brother's voice anymore.
"AAAAAARHHHHHH, GENYA! GENYAAAAAAA! AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
"Shinazugawa, let's go. Raise your head.
Sanemi didn't want to leave, he didn't want to leave this little brother. Sanemi finally wanted to see Genya, and to never leave him. But it was too late.
"This isn't over until Muzan is defeated."
Sanemi didn't want to leave, but knew he had no choice. He managed to get up. And for the last time, harness his anger,
And take it out on a demon.
If Sanemi thought about it more, he would have noticed that Genya never did stop calling Sanemi 'Nemi', like he said 13 years ago.
