I woke in the hospital to see Evan beside me in a different bed in the same room and Mike in between my bed and Evan's bed. He looked concerned. I opened my heavy eyes and Mike saw me.
"Kay bear I missed you" Mike said as he hugged me and I smiled
"What happened?" I said
"You and Evan fainted" Mike said
"And what about Evan? Is he okay?" I asked
"Well he hasn't woken up yet but he will be okay" Mike said
"I hope he wakes up" I said looking at Mike sadly
"You look worried. What is the problem?" Mike asked
"Evan wanted to tell me something very important before he fell" I said
"Oh! So by God's grace he will be fine" Mike said as he hugged me again and smiled
"I am hungry" I said
"Are you weak?" Mike asked
"Umm... No I am not but I have a headache but am alright" I said as Mike looked at me and smiled. After a while, Evan woke up and was discharged that day but before that the doctor whispered something into Evan's ears. He looked worried but he stayed calm until we went home. At home, Evan sat down and called me to sit by him. He gave me a sad look and he started crying.
"Hey Evan please stop crying. What is the matter with you?" I said feeling concerned
"It's nothing" Evan lied and I could sense he lied
"What did the doctor tell you? what did you want to tell me?" I asked Evan
"Well Kaylee I know this is not the way you imagine your proposal to be but I have a few words to share first" Evan said as I looked at him confusingly
"Go on" I said looking at him.
"Okay firstly I never had a girlfriend named Erica. I only played her so you could be jealous and so I could know if you still wanted me and you did. I am so sorry if I played with you but it's time to pop the question" Evan said as I smiled cheerfully.
"Okay??" I said
"Kaylee will you be my girlfriend?" Evan asked with his eyes glued on me. I could feel the tension he had
"I don't know but why did you play me?" I asked wanting to elongate our talk
"I am sorry" Evan said
"Yes I will" I said as Evan hugged me and Mike who has been eavesdropping came in.
"Am happy for you sis and for you too bro" Mike said as he had a group hug.
"So, let's go back to business since you guys already have your moment let me introduce mine" Mike said
"OMG! Mike you have a girlfriend?" I asked
"No I met this girl and she was really nice nothing more and she invited us for dinner tomorrow" Mike said as we were all happy for him.
"So we are going there tomorrow right?" Evan said
"No I have to do something tomorrow" I said
"What?" Evan asked me
"Nothing important" I said trying to shove the question. I wanted to go to Leo. I wanted to question him. I wanted to call the cops on him. I wanted to extract the truth from him. I was boiling but what could I do?
