After the whole incident, I was stressed. I then decided to go out for a bite with Evan. He took me to get a cup of coffee. Exactly what I needed.
"So babe, when are you planning on telling others about our engagement?" I asked Evan
"Well, I don't know yet. I guess, I will prepare a special home made dinner then as we all eat, I will tell them" Evan said
"Ah! Nice" I said as I smiled
"Yeah" Evan said
"I wanted to post it on Instagram but Mike doesn't know yet" I said
"Yeah, I understand" Evan said
"I have a three months training I have to attend" I said
"Why?" Evan asked
"You know I was a very smart student before" I said
"Yeah?" Evan nodded
"And ever since our relationship and your illness, I flunked some tests" I said
"What?" Evan said
"I know! Even before we dated, when you were still in my University you told me Failure was not an option" I said
"So what happened?" Evan said
"The three months course will help cover it up" I said
"Where is it?" Evan asked
"I will ask" I said
"Will you be travelling?" Evan asked
"I guess so" I smiled
"I will miss you" Evan said
"Don't get me started. I will miss you more" I said as I hugged him and drank my coffee.
After some minutes, we went to a bakery and ordered cookies. We were munching on it when Rene called.
"Hey Bestie" Rene said
"Hi" I said
"What's wrong?" Rene said
"Nothing" I said
"Okay then. So Kay, I was wondering, if you wanted to go shopping?" Rene asked me as I sighed
"I'll pass" I said
"C'mon girl. Please!" Rene begged
"Am sorry Ren but no" I said
"You are so mean" Rene said
"Am not. I am just busy" I said
"Then tomorrow" Rene said
"Bye Ren" I said as I ended the call
"So tell me" Evan said
"What? What do you mean?" I said confusingly
"Every time after you make a phone call like this, you always yap about it" Evan smiled
"It's Rene" I sighed
"Who?" Evan asked as I told him everything and he just looked at me
"What should I do?" I said
"Do you feel something off about her?" Evan asked
"Yeah" I said
"Then follow your instinct" Evan smiled
"Yeah thanks" I said
"Do you want to go for a walk?" Evan asked me
"Not really, am sorry" I said
"It's fine" Evan smiled
"Thank you so much" I said as Evan paid for our stuffs and then we went outside.
"I could really use a walk" I smiled as Evan kept his car keys in his pocket and held my hand. The weather was really warm and the sky looked beautiful. We both walked down the street as the gently breeze blew on our faces. I felted so safe and relaxed. It was as if nothing could go wrong but I saw Leo.
"Hey Kay" Leo smirked as I ignored him and walked away. Evan and I felt tired at a moment.
"Let's go back to the car" I said as we headed for the car and went home.
