101|| Hiking

It was finally the day Sienna was waiting for. The day that had never left her mind. The same day that had Sienna counting down the hours since the original time it got cancelled.

Hiking. At the Thetowne Hiking Trail. It was something that was planned by Carol. A nice walk in a natural reserve, taking in all the wonder it has to offer.

Of course, Sienna knew that not everyone would be pleased with the idea, especially since the group would be hiking with someone most of the group had doubts about. As a housemate, Sienna often heard Lily's doubts and Alyssa's complaints. Nevertheless, Sienna looked forward to the day.

A big adventure.  A step out to nature's beauty. That's what she thought.

Dressed in her hiking-appropriate wear, Sienna rushed down the stairs and into House 1's living room. No one was around other than the three prepared backpacks Lily had set near the door.

Sienna made her way to one of the seats in the room and plopped down. She took out her earphones and her phone, connecting them before scrolling on her phone for a song.

Alas, she had found an album- a musical - one that Lily kept talking about. Sienna plugged her earphones in and nodded her head to the song.

Halfway through the song, Sienna spotted Lily at the room's doorway. She raised a hand and waved. Her housemate, also dressed up and ready for the hike, gave a wave back before she scanned the room. Sienna noticed her housemate had knitted her brows close as she scanned the room.

Sienna paused her song and unplugged one of her earphones. "Looking for someone?"

"Uh, yeah." Lily nodded. "Did Alyssa come downstairs yet?"

Sienna shook her head. She heard the blonde sigh loudly.

"She said she'd come downstairs." Lily tsked, flipping one of her curly blonde pigtails to the back. "Seriously? What's taking her so long?"

"Maybe she's taking her time finding an outfit?" Sienna shrugged. "I mean she does need to find something appropriate for a hike."

"Yeah, but she is not someone who would be this late. Sabrina's group has already left."

Sienna nodded. Her friend had a point. The people of Houses 1, 3, 6 and 8 had already left earlier. They knew this from the chat. Everyone else is ready as well- the chat stated that too.

All that is left is House 5.

Suddenly Sienna heard a couple of footsteps from the stairs followed by a cough. A familiar red-haired girl tiptoed into the room, huddled in a thick baby blue blanket.

Lily twirled to the blanket, "Finally! You have arri- are you alright?" The blonde's eyebrows furrowed, "Alyssa, what's wrong?"

"I got a-" a few coughs from the blanket, "-cold."

"Oh no, that's awful. Bad timing as well." Lily frowned at her housemate, "Let me check your temperature. Surely that thermometer is around here somewhere."

"Thermometer?" Sienna tilted her head.

"That digital one. Where is it?" Lily clicked her fingers, "We need it."

"Wait-" Alyssa called out, louder than before. Her housemates turned to look which caused her to whisper, "Wait sorry. Do we... need it right ...now?" 

"...Yes?" Lily placed her hands on her hips. She raised an eyebrow. "Why do you not want it, Alyssa? You're not lying about getting a cold, are you?"

Silence.

"Either way," Lily continued, "We're still measuring your temperature. Safety reasons." She turned on her heel and headed to the kitchen. "Won't be long!"
