POV :~ KRTIKA

Point number one to be noted, Kritika, 'You've to tell him to that you need to work even after your marriage."

Point number two, "Make sure that he matches your vibe and will support you through your mother's illness."

I noted the most important points in my mind, needed to be confirmed before I agree for this marriage. Yes, today, my mother's bestfriend's family were going to visit our house to make the deal for my marriage and I swear, I was so nervous, anxiety was hitting me like something I cannot explain in words.

Suddenly,OCD had gotten into me and I was cleaning each and every corner of our home. I've never had a boyfriend in my life after once in standard eleventh, when a random boy broke my heart.

Actually, it wasn't even love, it was just infatuation but it made me believe that boys are shit personality. It made me believe that they throw the same 'age old dialogues' upon every other girl including their girlfriend. Let's take an example, 'You're the first girl I'm talking to like this,' —'Your eyes are so beautiful,' — 'You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.'

At a particular time, I even started believing that I was the one who had some problem, but no, it wasn't me because after he broke up with me, he found a girl for himself within two days and after that, many more boys approached me too, but I had no interest in coming into a relationship after that. I had this thing pre-decided that I will have an arranged marriage.

"Beta, are you ready?", I heard Maa's voice from outside the room.

"Yes, Maa, five minutes," I replied.

"They have almost reached, beta, be fast," I just hummed.

Part of my mind had believed this theory especially because, my father—according to my mother, my father abandoned both of us when I was a newborn. I've never seen him.

For me, my world revolved just around my mother who raised me all along. Being a middle-school teacher, it was tough for her to cope up with my responsibility as well as career, still she did. And I'm so proud today, that people call me as her daughter. The amount of love that she has given me, no one would have ever gave me.

My thoughts got interrupted when I heard the noise coming from outside, cars stopping outside my home and I walked towards window to see outside.

Two cars came to halt. Sunaina aunty stepped down from the car after Vikas uncle opened the door for her.

How sweet.

And from the other side of back seat, Vikram uncle's wife came outside when Vikram uncle got outside from the driver's seat and opened the door for her.

I thought, where would he be.

It's not like I haven't seen him earlier, I've seen him many times along with his mother. Last time I met his family altogether was on the occasion of his parent's twenty-fifth wedding anniversary.

Kshitij.

The only interaction we ever have had is hello-bye.

I will not deny, he is a good-looking man and I really appreciate that he has worked so hard. I mean, their family business wasn't so famous few years ago, he had worked hard day and night and has made this business from his own hands. Because of his hardwork, VV groups of Hotels is so famous today.

*Knock*

"Yes, Maa," I spoke.

"Beta, they are here, open the door."
