POV ~: KRITIKA

Today is my wedding day, the day we've been waiting for so long.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror, and I can hardly believe the vision staring back at me.

The rich red of my lehenga glowed with a life of its own, adorned with intricate gold embroidery that tells tales of tradition and timeless elegance. Each motif, meticulously crafted, danced across the fabric, shimmering softly with every movement.

The blouse, perfectly fitted, boasts delicate patterns that traced my form, blending seamlessly with the lehenga's grandeur. A sheer dupatta, draped gracefully over my shoulder, added a touch of ethereal beauty, its edges kissed with gold threadwork.

My jewelry, heavy earrings framed my face, while a statement necklace rested against my collarbone, each gem a testament to the celebration of this moment. Bangles clinked softly around my wrists.

I stood  there, taking in the breathtaking view, the weight of the day settling over me. Not just the physical weight of the lavish attire, but the emotional gravity of the vows I'll soon exchange with my fiancèe. The intricate patterns on my lehenga mirrored the complex emotions swirling within me—anticipation, love, and a touch of nervous excitement.

Since morning, a nervous energy has coursed through me, my heart fluttering with each passing hour.  The sparkle of my jewelry and the gentle rustle of my dupatta are comforting reminders of the joyous celebration ahead, but they do little to quell the butterflies dancing in my stomach. I took a deep breath, embracing the beauty and gravity of this moment, ready to step into the future with Ks—

"Are you ready?" I heard Sayesha's voice and turned around.

Priti was standing right beside her and they both were wearing beautiful sequined and shimmery saree.

Their eyes widened, and they gasped in unison, a look of awe spreading instantly across their faces.

"Oh my God, Kritika," Sayesha whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "You look absolutely stunning, babe!!"

Priti nodded vigorously, tears welling up in her eyes,"I knew you’d look beautiful, but this... this is beyond words."

Their reactions made my heart swell with a mixture of gratitude and love. "Thank you," I said softly, my voice trembling.

"I couldn’t have made it this far without you," I felt a lump in my throat, "Really!"

Sayesha crossed the room in a few quick strides and enveloped me in a warm hug. "We've been through so much together," she murmured. "And now, seeing you like this, it's like a dream come true, Kri!!"

Priti joined the hug, her eyes sparkling with unshed tears. "We always knew this day would come, but seeing you here, so radiant and ready, it's overwhelming. You’re the most beautiful bride I've ever seen in my life."

I felt my own eyes misting as I held onto my friends, the ones who had been my rock through thick and thin. "I’m so lucky to have you both," I said, my voice thick with emotion, tears in my eyes. "Thank you for being here, for everything."

They pulled back, both of them holding one of my hands. Sayesha smiled through her tears. "We're not just here for you today, Kritika. We're here for you always, get that straight into your little but smart mind."

Priti squeezed my hand, her expression earnest. "No matter what, we're by your side. Today, tomorrow, forever ever and ever, my darling."

Just as I was beginning to feel a bit more grounded, the door creaked open again, and my mother stepped inside. The moment her eyes landed on me, she stopped in her tracks, her hand flying to her mouth as tears began to stream down her face.
