POV :~ KSHITIJ

It's been twenty-three long days since Kritika's mother passed away.

Everything is back to normal.

Except me, Kritika, and my mother. Partly Kritika's friends too, especially Sayesha.

My mother seems irritated these days, because of the fact that her bestfriend is no more.

My wife — worthless to say. Everything changed the day her mother passed away. She hadn't cried a tear since that day at hospital. Not even after I asked her to cry.

And me? Because my wife isn't well. Mentally and emotionally. She is suffering and I am not able to do anything. It's not like we don't talk, or we don't sleep together. But those talks have been limited to asking,

'Do you need something?'
'How are you?'
'Good morning/Good night'
'When will you return back from work?'
'Did you eat?'

That's it. Nothing more. Nothing less.

You think I haven't tried opening her up? I tried and failed.

She has been more miserable from insides after my mother revealed all the truth to her. That was seven days ago, after she was in the state to listen to the whole story.

That man claiming to be her husband was right.

My mother-in-law couldn't conceive. Ever. They tried, and failed. Several times. Her in-laws were mad about this fact and called her cursed. They threatened her that they'll marry off their son, aka, her husband, to any other woman who can give their family a heir.

Not once. But all the time.

One day, when she was arguing with her husband related to all this, her husband ended up calling her the same. "Cursed."

According to Maa, her husband never got himself checked. Her husband and her in-laws always believed that the problem, was in her.

Such a small dicked man. Thank God, Kritika isn't his daughter.

Yeah, coming back to story.

After her husband called her cursed, she ran away from her house. That's when she found Kritika, in a park. A just born child. Wrapped in white sheets. In rain. Someone must have left her there.

Because in reality, major people do not have balls and heart to call their child as 'their own child' when they end up giving birth before a proper institution — marriage. They call it a 'mistake', not after the child is born, but since the child is a foetus itself.

Those fucking people are the only mistake their parents produced without using a condom.

So, after she found Kritika, she went back to her husband along with that baby, and asked him that 'we can keep her as our child, she is God's gift and what not'. But just like the other day, he said that the child, aka, my wife, is fucking mistake. And after that, I walked out of the room.

Because I had no power inside me to hear some random man referring my wife as a mistake. She is a Goddess.

Although I already had figured the rest of the story. My mother-in-law would have left that bastard, and would have chose my wife. Like I said, she is a Goddess. Who would not choose her?

The only mistake done from our side was, Kritika's mother didn't give a divorce to her husband, because that bastard wasn't ready to sign those papers at any cost and her mother didn't wanted to get involved into court and all, because Kritika was a kid. She wanted to focus on her.
