POV :~ KRITIKA

It took everything in me not to back off and break our hug.

I hesitantly looked up at him.

"Why do you think so?"

He swallowed hard. "I-I'm... I'm not confident enough."

This time, I couldn't stop myself from breaking our hug.

"But we're doing just fine, aren't we? Why are you trailing back to negativities, Kshitij?"

He palmed my cheeks, and looked into my eyes like a hawk, "I'm not a positive person, Kritika. I never was."

I held his wrists, "But you were trying. You are still trying. What's trailing you back? Tell me. I'll handle it, I'll handle everything, Kshitij."

He tucked my body into his arms and hugged me again. I could hear his heartbeats. Pacing heartbeats.

I smiled at him, stood on my tiptoes and wrapped my arms around his neck. He literally lifted me up while he hugged me back tightly.

I slapped his shoulder, "Put me down," and let out a soft laugh only to lighten up his mood.

He placed my feet back on the ground, but arched down, letting me hug him.

I caressed the nape of his neck gently, and whispered in his ear,

"I don't fear anything. If you don't trust yourself with this relationship, I'll trust enough for both of us. I'll not let you back off and break my heart. But in return, I'll need your promise."

He pulled back, and looked into my eyes, "Anything."

I brushed my thumb upon his cheek. To be honest, our lips were just inches away and I feared that I don't end up kissing him. But somehow I held back my strong nasty urge and whispered against his mouth,
