[Friendship]

"I've chosen the calmest one we have, so don't worry," He promised. He glanced at the tall horse. "This is Silver. He's Kuya Herrun's favorite."

I'm not really worried, to you the truth. Just for fun, because I don't think I will be using it extensively anyway.

But since Kidlat is insisting it's imperative for me to learn it, I don't see any reason why I should decline.

Kaya ngayon, just two days before the school starts again, we're both out here in their wide field. With Kidlat on his slick, equestrian outfit, at ako naman sa suot na jeans at plaid long sleeved shirt. It's four in the afternoon and I'm expecting we'll end before six o'clock later.

"Sigurado ka, ha?" Nagkunwari akong nag-aalala kahit ang totoo, ako pa nga ang mas excited.

He nodded, then returned to the tall, brown horse. With practiced hands, he adjusted the tack, ensuring everything was secure. After a final, contemplative sigh, he turned his gaze back to me.

"Come here," He called gently.

I walked over and watched the horse for a bit. Kumpleto na siya sa harap ko. With the saddle pad, saddle and the bridle on. Silver was very calm and quiet, so I quickly decided to touch him. I smiled a little when he nudged against my soft touch.

The horse looked so cute in front of me. Agad kong hinawakan ang buhok nito. I also scratched and massaged him slightly on his neck because I know it calms them and it's a way for me to gain their trust.

I'm not really unfamiliar with them, since madalas naman akong nauutusang magpakain sa kanila sa kwadra. May ideya na rin ako kung paano sila papakalmahin, in cases where they become irritated or violent.

"Let's get you on the horse first," Kidlat ordered. "Come closer."

Tinuro niya ang patungan.

"Put your left foot on the stirrup."

He held my waist to assist me up. Once I was fully seated in the saddle, I placed my right foot in the other stirrup.

"Hold the reins, Yohan. Just like how I taught you."

I obliged and went on to grab it. He had already explained to me earlier how to properly hold the reins so I did the exact same.

"Good job," He said in his low voice.

I almost pouted.

"Straighten up your body..." Utos niya ulit. I glance down at him, naroon pa rin siya sa tabi ng kabayo para siguraduhing hindi muna ito gagalaw. "I want you to try moving him first."

Tumango ako. Hindi mapigilang pagmasdan siya lalo na sa itsura niya ngayon—serious and strict but very handsome. Especially with his proper equestrian outfit that only highlighted his manly stance and the shape of his lean body.

"You just have to put weight on the stirrup and pull on the reins to make him stop." He explained, basically repeating everything he told me earlier.

He looked up at me very sternly now. His brows slightly furrowed when he caught me smirking.
