"You got your camera?" Lea ask grabbing her Iowa hat and putting it on. "Yes ma'am" I set my camera down on the table and go to my room to get my Iowa jersey. It's just a plain jersey, no number attached. Yet.
I put the jersey on and check myself in the mirror. I nod and go back to my camera and wait for Lea to finish gettting ready.
"It's a game. Not prom" I tell her as I just watch her put some makeup on and some jewlery. "You still gotta look good. You never know" she winks at me then makes her way to me. "And I barely have makeup on" she pats my head and we walk out the door and make our way to the gym.
We made it to the gym and the girls were warming up and having a little fun before the game. Kalea and I found our seats and sat down. I sat down for a bit and talked to her but then I notice Kate being goofy so I got up and took a photo of her jumping in the air.
Perfect.
"You taking photos today?" I look up to see Caitlin smiling down at me. "Yup" I smile back at her. "Make sure you get some good ones of me" she winks at me before running off. I shake my head and walk back to Lea.
"Let me see the shot" I show her the photo I took and she nods in approval. "Olivia?" I look up to see Nika Muhl standing there in front of me with a ball in her hand. "Oh hey" I hand Kalea my camera, trusting her, and hug Nika.
"It's been so long" Nika and I have been friends for a while. I just know everyone somehow. "Paige! Come here!" I could still hear her Croatian accent when she speaks. I always loved her accent.
"Is that Olivia Hartley?" KK comes running to me and pulls me into a hug and starts jumping up and down while yelling. I start laughing at her silliness. "Good to see you too, KK" she finally pulls away and now Paige is standing there. "Paige" I give her a hug. "Olivia"
"We heard that you're going to be like the photographer for your school team" Paige spoke and I nod my head. "So cool!" KK says still excited. "Well we should get going. Someone is glaring at us" Nika points to the left with her head and I look over to see Kate staring.
"See ya" the trio pulls me into a group hug before running off to warm up. I ignore Kate's glare and try to grab my camera but it was gone. So was the girl holding it. I sigh and pull out my phone to text Kalea.
Kalea Rose
Where are you???
Went to get drinks
Okay
I sat down and waited for her to come back. "Got you a drink" she hands me a drink and I thank her. She sits down next to me and hands me back my camera. Kalea and I talk until the game starts. "You're annoying so go do your job" Kalea pushes me out of my chair and I stand up and go to the sideline.
I take some few photos and wait. Then take some more. The game was close the whole time and it was stressing me out a little. I almost dropped my camera because of the sweat that my hands were making.
An hour and 45 minutes later, the game ended and we won by 3 points. We would have gone into over time if Caitlin didn't shoot that three. I stand up from my spot and go back to Kalea. "You got good ones?" I nod and hand her my camera and she scrolls through the photos.
"Did you take some of me?" Caitlin ask jogging up to me with a towel around her neck. "Yes now leave" she sticks her tongue out at me and rushes to the locker room. "Let's go get ready for tonight" Kalea drags me to our dorm room to get ready.
About half and hour later, I get a text from the group chat.
