"Wednesday?" Enid muttered under her breath, her voice barely audible as she stared at the girl who had just entered the cafe

She didn’t want the girl to hear her, but the name slipped out almost involuntarily, a reflexive reaction to the unmistakable figure standing before her.

Yoko, who was nearby, caught the name and noticed the intensity with which Enid was staring at the newcomer. Curious, she followed Enid’s gaze to the person who had just walked in.

Yoko’s eyes widened in recognition as she looked at the girl.

"Is that... Wednesday Addams?" she whispered to Enid, who nodded almost imperceptibly, still trying to process the surreal sight.

The cafe's familiar bustle seemed to fade into the background as the two friends watched Wednesday make her way towards the counter.

Enid’s mind raced with memories of their time at Nevermore, a flood of images and emotions that felt both distant and vivid.

She remembered the quiet and stoic presence that Wednesday had always exuded, traits that seemed even more pronounced now.

As Wednesday approached the counter, Enid felt a surge of nervous energy.  She knew she had to say something, to break the ice and bridge the years that had passed since they last saw each other.

"H-hi Wednesday," Enid stammered, her voice trembling slightly as she tried to steady herself.

Wednesday looked at her with confusion etched across her face. Her dark eyes narrowed slightly, trying to understand why Enid seemed so flustered. Enid, too, was puzzled by her own nervousness.

She hadn’t expected to react this way, but the surprise of seeing Wednesday again after so many years had thrown her off balance.

"Enid," Wednesday said, her voice calm and steady.

Enid scratched the back of her head, a nervous habit she had never quite outgrown. The awkwardness of the moment hung in the air, palpable and thick.

She forced a chuckle, trying to break the tension.

"Long time no see," she said awkwardly, the words feeling clumsy on her tongue. "Um, what can I get you?"

Wednesday’s expression softened just a fraction, but her eyes remained as intense as ever.

"Just a quad," she replied, her voice measured and precise.Enid nodded, grateful for the straightforward answer.

She turned to start preparing the order, her mind racing with a thousand thoughts. She couldn’t believe how much seeing Wednesday again has thrown her off her game.

She’d always admired Wednesday’s composed, almost stoic demeanor, and now, faced with it again, she felt like a schoolgirl caught in the spotlight.

As she worked, she tried to regain her composure, focusing on the familiar motions of making the drink. The cafe around them buzzed with the usual morning activity, customers chatting and baristas calling out orders, but for Enid, it felt like the world had narrowed down to just her and Wednesday.

"So," Enid began, trying to make small talk as she prepared the coffee, "what brings you to town? I never expected to see you here."

Wednesday tilted her head slightly, considering the question.

"Life has a way of leading us to unexpected places," she said enigmatically. "I find myself here, for now."

Enid smiled, feeling a bit more at ease with the conversation.

"Well, it’s good to see you," she said sincerely. "I hope you’re doing well."

Wednesday gave a small nod.
