"Why are we here?" Tyler asked, glancing around the jewelry shop with curiosity and confusion. The soft glow of the shop's lighting reflected off the polished glass cases, illuminating rows of sparkling rings, necklaces, and other fine jewelry.

"I think it's quite obvious now," Wednesday replied, her tone as sharp as ever, but her dark eyes were focused on the rings displayed before her. Her fingers trailing just above the glass as if she were searching for something specific.

"Wait," Tyler said, a hint of realization dawning on his face. "We're getting married?"

Wednesday turned her head to face him, a glare etched across her features, as if the very idea was both absurd and irritating.

"Just kidding," Tyler chuckled nervously, raising his hands in mock surrender before turning his attention back to the display. "You're as serious as ever."

They continued to browse in silence, the air between them thick with unspoken thoughts. The quiet was broken when a young woman, dressed in the store’s uniform, approached them with a friendly smile.

"A ring for you two?" she asked, her eyes flicking between them, clearly mistaking the nature of their relationship.

Tyler laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. "No, no," he said quickly, gesturing toward Wednesday. "It's for her lover. She's planning on proposing to her."

"Oh," the girl mumbled, her face flushing slightly in embarrassment. She quickly composed herself and gestured toward one of the glass cases. "Well, here are some of the finest rings we have, all of the highest quality."

Tyler leaned closer to the case, his eyes widening as he took in the dazzling array of rings. "Woah, these rings are actually pretty incredible," he said, clearly impressed.

Wednesday, however, remained composed, her gaze scanning the selection until something caught her eye.

A ring, elegant and timeless, stood out among the others. It was designed like an infinity ring, its smooth curves encrusted with delicate diamonds that sparkled like stars.

"I think I'll take this one," she said decisively, pointing at the ring that had captured her attention.

The salesgirl’s eyes lit up with approval. "Good choice," she said with a nod, carefully retrieving the ring from the case.

Wednesday watched silently as the girl wrapped the ring in a red velvet-lined box and rang up the purchase. Tyler, still slightly confused by the whole situation, leaned against the counter, watching his friend with an amused expression.

Moments later, with the transaction completed, they left the shop, the small box tucked securely in Wednesday’s coat pocket. The sun was setting as they walked. Tyler glanced at Wednesday, wondering what was going through her mind.

"So," he began cautiously. "Have you thought about what you're going to say when you propose?"

Wednesday remained silent for a moment, her expression unreadable. Finally, she looked at him, her voice steady. "It's not about the words, Tyler. It's about the intent. She’ll understand."

Tyler nodded, sensing that was all he would get out of her for now. As they walked away from the shop, the city buzzing around them, he couldn't help but wonder how Enid would react when Wednesday finally revealed what she had planned.

After what felt like an eternity, Wednesday arrived back at the apartment. The familiar creak of the door announced her presence, and as she stepped inside, she noticed Enid lounging on the couch, her face illuminated by the soft glow of her phone screen.
