Enid woke up with a massive headache, her surroundings unfamiliar and disorienting. She quickly sat up, only to wince at the sudden pain that shot through her head.

"You're awake now," a voice called out, calm and steady.

She turned her head, her eyes widening in surprise when she saw Wednesday standing beside the bed, holding a tray with a bowl of steaming soup and some medicine on it.

Wednesday placed the tray on the table next to the bed.

"I know you're confused right now, but eat this first and take the medicine. I'll answer your questions later."

Enid blinked, her mind struggling to piece together the events of the previous night. She remembered the bar, the laughter, and then the rest was a blur.

"Where are we?" she finally managed to ask, her voice hoarse.

Wednesday's expression softened just a fraction. "A hotel. You were quite drunk, so I brought you here to rest."

Enid nodded slowly, her hands reaching for the soup. The warm aroma was comforting, and she realized just how hungry she was. She took a few tentative sips, the warmth spreading through her.

Wednesday watched her closely, ensuring she ate enough before handing her the medicine.

"This will help with the headache," she said.

Enid swallowed the pills with a gulp of water, her curiosity piquing despite her fatigue.

"You really went through all this trouble for me?" she asked, a hint of wonder in her voice.

"Of course," Wednesday replied. "I couldn't leave you in that state."

Enid smiled weakly. "Thank you, Wednesday. I...I don't remember much, but I'm grateful."

Wednesday nodded, taking a seat on the edge of the bed.

"It was an eventful night. You wanted to walk home alone, and I had to bring you here to ensure your safety."

Enid chuckled, then winced at the pain the laughter caused. "I must have been a handful."

"You were," Wednesday said, a rare glimmer of amusement in her eyes. "But it was worth it to see you safe."

They sat in silence for a few moments, Enid finishing her soup while Wednesday quietly observed her.

"I remember something," Enid said suddenly, her brow furrowing in concentration. "You... you followed me on Instagram. Why?"

Wednesday's gaze never wavered though she blamed Tyler for doing that.

"I...wanted to keep in touch. To see what you're up to."

Enid felt a warmth spread through her chest, different from the soup's heat.

"You care about me," she said softly, more a statement than a question.

"Yes, I do," Wednesday replied, her voice steady and sincere. "More than you might realize."

Enid's heart skipped a beat at the admission, her headache momentarily forgotten.

"You should rest now." Wednesday added.

Enid nodded, lying back down with a contented sigh. As she drifted off to sleep again, she felt a sense of security  that she hadn't felt in a long time.

Wednesday drove Enid to the Weathervane. Her concern for Enid's well-being still evident. Enid's pallor and the slight grimace she wore whenever she moved too quickly indicated that she hadn't fully recovered from the previous night's hangover.
