I walked into the house and put my keys on the table. I walked upstairs to my bedroom, only to hear loud music blasting. I walked in to see Aubrey with his face in his pillow. I rolled my eyes as I sat his food on the dresser and walked over to the stereo to shut off the music. He looked up.
"Why you home so early?" He asked, wiping his face with his hand.
"I brought you lunch," I motioned to the bag of food. "and to check up on you."
"I'm good, I was good before you left." He said.
I rolled my eyes. "You haven't even showered yet so I don't wanna ask if you brushed your teeth."
He got off the bed and went into the bathroom. I reached in my purse to see if I had any missed calls or texts; I didn't. I put my phone back in my purse and sat it on the bed.
"How about you shower and if I think you're in good enough shape, I'll call Dave to take you to the studio?"
"Well, why not mom?" Aubrey said.
I giggled as I heard the shower start. I was straightening up the room when Aubrey's phone began to vibrate on the nightstand. I looked to see it was August.
"What's up Aug?" I answered.
"Oh, what's up girl? I ain't expect you to answer." He said.
I chuckled. "But I did. Aubrey's in the shower."
"Oh okay. I was just checking on em. He told me about how you was forcing em to stay home today."
"Yeah, he wasn't doing too good last night so ya know, I had to make sure he was good."
"Yeah," he mumbled. "Ain't too many like you outchea."
"Huh?" I asked.
"Nothing. Just tell Drake I called. I'll talk to you later." He said quickly, hanging up before I could respond.
I looked at Aubrey's phone before sitting it back on the nightstand.
"That was weird." I thought.
But of course, I wasn't going to bring it up to Aubrey. Don't want to over think anything, that might be nothing.

"Okay, here we go mommy's baby." I said, picking Aubriana up from her nap.
She cooed before starting to cry. I rocked her as I walked to the kitchen.
"Mommy, Mommy!" Justin came running into the kitchen.
"Justin, baby please. I just got your sister to quiet down." I put her bottle in the warmer. "What do you need, sweetie?"
"My game isn't working. I turned it on and off but the screen is still back."
Aubriana started cooing my arms. "I'll be right there, let me feed your sister and I'll be right there." I took the bottle off the warmer and fed Aubriana.
Ten years ago, I would've never guessed this would be my life. I always wanted to become an actress. But things never turned out like that. When I was 16, my mother was strung out on drugs and my father wasn't around. In order for my mom to pay the bills, she started hooking. Soon enough, she started pimping me out for money. Then she became so desperate, she pimped me out for drugs. My innocence was taken away from me at a young age so I forgot all about becoming a actress. One day when I was 19, I was with a man and he was so drunk and disoriented, he forgot to use a condom. So I wound up pregnant with Justin. Then I moved to California and found a job as a dancer. One day at a conference for A-Listers, I met Aubrey. But with everything with Justin and my mom, who at the time was in and out of rehab, I couldn't deal with someone on that level. So we lost contact. But then I moved to Atlanta and I just couldn't started thinking about him. So I found his number after searching for forever, and we met for dinner, where I confessed all the hidden feelings I had for him. Only to find out, he had some for me too. So we slept together. All the time, 24/7. After so much unprotected sex, I eventually became pregnant again. But I promised to keep my mouth shut. So I was pregnant in secret and had Aubriana six months ago. I was so heartbroken to find out he started screwing that bitch, Harmony. And he didn't just start doing it. He started screwing her a month before Aubriana was born.
My phone rang in my pocket as I laid Aubriana down in her crib. I pulled my phone out my pocket and sighed as I read the Caller I.D.
"What Aubrey?"
He chuckled. "Girl, quit acting like you mad at me. I wanna see the baby."
"She just went to sleep." I said, walking into the living where Justin was still struggling with his game.
"I'll be there in 15 minutes." He stated before hanging up.
I rolled my eyes and sat my phone on the table. "Justin, can you go change into your pajamas and I'll bring your game in your room."
He twisted his face up. "Why I gotta go in my room?"
I put my hand on my hip. "Because Aubrey's coming to see the baby and I gotta clean up."
Aubrey is letting us stay in his condo he never uses but is only letting me stay here if I keep it clean.
Justin sighed heavily before getting up. "Alright."
"Thank you baby." I kissed his forehead. I grabbed the vacuum as I began to straighten up. 10 minutes later, I was lighting the last candle in the living room so the smell could travel throughout the house. I peeped into Justin's room to see him into some football game he was playing. I was on my way to the nursery when there was a knock at the door. I pushed my hair behind my ear before going to the door. I opened it to see a smiling Aubrey.
"What's up?" He said before walking in.
I closed the door. "Nothing too much."
He looked me up and down before licking his lips. "Where the kids?"
"Justin playing the game in his room and Aubriana is sleeping."
He nodded before heading to Justin's room.
I went to the nursery to see Aubriana sleeping soundly before going back to Justin room where I seen him and Aubrey wrestling.
I leaned against the door frame. "Aubrey, didn't I tell you to stop horseplaying with him? His asthma is really bad right now."
Justin looked up at me and kissed his teeth. "Come on ma. Aubrey all talk and no bark."
Aubrey groaned as Justin jumped on his back. He chuckled. "You heard your ma. Go brush your teeth so you can get ready for bed."
"But it's only 10:30." He whined.
"Justin Malik Wright." I said sternly. He sighed heavily. "Fine." He turned to Aubrey. "I got you next time." He ran off to the bathroom.
Aubrey laughed before looking at me. "You looking good."
I looked at the ground. "Thanks."
He walked over to me before pulling me by my waist to be closer to him. "Don't start acting like you shy now."
I opened my mouth to speak but his phone ringing interrupted. He reached in his pocket.
"Its Harmony." He answered. "Hello?"
I walked to the bathroom to check on Justin. He was drying his face.
"Make sure you pat dry, not wipe."
"I know ma. You tell me this all the time." Justin chuckled as he sat the towel on the rack.
"Jas!" Aubrey called from the front.
"How about I meet you in your room so I can beat in you in a game of football before bed? Because you got a math quiz tomorrow so you gotta be in bed early." I told Justin.
He nodded. "Alright. But I got the 49ers this time!"
I smiled. "Deal." I walked to the living room to see Aubrey standing next to the door.
"What's up?" I folded my arms. "Gotta leave?"
"Yeah, Harmony need me at the house." He said, pulling out a wad of cash and sitting it on the table.
"Can you please stop doing that? You're doing enough for us and I have a lot left over from last week." I stated.
Every time he comes over, before he leaves, he leaves a stack of cash on the table. It's never the same amount. Sometimes it's $5,000, other times it's $20,000. Just depends on how he's feeling that day.
"I'll see you later." He said, exiting the condo, ignoring my question.
I sighed before locking the door and counting the amount he left. It was $1,200. My phone then vibrated in my pocket. I looked to see Aubrey texted me.
Aubrey: Use that for Justin. Basketball season coming soon and he needs new shoes.
That's one thing I can say Aubrey; Although Justin isn't his child, he takes care of him as if he is.
I smirked before placing my phone back in my pocket before heading to Justin's room for a game of football.
Harmony
I walked down the long hall of studios. Aubrey had been gone since I left for work this morning and I came back and he's still not home. So I just came to see what he's working on. My heels clicked and clicked on the tiles as I inched closer to the studio Aubrey uses. I opened the door to see it was empty.
"Aubrey?" I asked. I pushed my sunglasses back onto my head. I sighed when I got no response. I was heading out when I heard someone call my name.
"What's good, girl?"
I turned to August coming from the bathroom.
"Hey, I was looking for Aubrey. Is he here?"
He shook his head. "Nah, brah left like a hour ago with Nicki."
"Nicki?" I raised a eyebrow.
"Yeah, some urgent I guess. They left in a rush."
I slowly nodded. "Oh okay. If he comes back, let him know I stopped by."
August inched closer to me. "Yeah, will do."
But the way he was looking at me had me stuck, as in I couldn't move.
He licked his lips before speaking again. "That's all you came for?"
I swallowed. "Uh, yeah. That's all."
By now, August had came so close to my face, if I moved a inch closer, we would be locking lips.
"What are you doing with him?" He asked softly.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "What do you mean?"
"He don't appreciate you. I could show what it's like to be with a real man, who'll show you, who'll love you." He turned me around so that my back was to him. "And most importantly, who'll sex you right cause he obviously ain't doing some right."
He pushed his pelvic on my butt so I could feel him getting hard, thanks to the sundress sticking to my skin. He grabbed my waist and pulled me closer.
"Wouldn't want you looking stupid while he's out doing what he's doing." He whispered in my ear.
That's when my eyes popped open. I turned around to face him. "What do you mean while he's doing what he's doing? What is he doing?"
August just backed up with his hands up. "I didn't say anything."
"But you did." I stated. "Is Aubrey cheating on me?"
He sat on the couch. "I ain't say that."
I just stared at him before responding. "I don't believe you."
"There's nothing to believe if I didn't say nothing."
I pulled my sunglasses over my eyes. "You didn't have to."
I walked over to the exit, ready to get home as quick as possible.
