Harmony
I smoothed out the red bodycon dress that conformed to my body. I checked myself out before running my fingers through my bone-straight hair. Arabella called earlier and invited me to dinner with her and Tiffany. Of course I accepted, seeing how I haven't seen my girls in a while. Blake left for LA two days ago for some press conferences and practice. He wasn't sure if he'll be back before the Christmas Day game but he assured me that he'd try.
"What am I forgetting..." I thought to myself.
I looked around the room and tried to figure it out.
"Lipgloss." I smiled as I figured it out.
As I sat down at my vanity, I heard my front door open then close as laughter followed behind it. Footsteps began to climb my staircase before Arabella appeared in my door frame.
"Hello doll." She grinned.
Arabella walked over to me, dressed in her black two-piece dress. She was slim but the dress seemed to fit her well. Her long blonde hair was cut into a short bob that was curled. I smiled as I took it all in.
Tiffany came in after her. "Hey lil mama. We haven't seen you in a while."
Tiffany sat on my bed, as she flipped her hair behind her shoulder.
"I know, y'all know I just been busy and trying to adjust to things." I stated apologetically, as I swiped my nude lipgloss across my full lips.
"We heard," Arabella said, sitting on my ottoman. "So how are things with this NBA player? What's his name?"
I turned around to face them, with a big smile on my face. "His name is Blake, he plays for the Clippers and he's so sweet you guys. He's completely different than what I thought he'd be."
"Girl, that's adorable as hell. He tall as fuck too. Like 6'8, 6'9? If only Sean had some height on him." Tiffany giggled. "You lucky because what I've seen, he fine too."
"I swear I was shocked to hear about you and Aubrey." Arabella said.
I waved her off as I strapped on my nude heels. "I wasn't. I knew it was coming. He just wasn't invested into our relationship like I was, you know?"
"You know I know."
"I mean, there's no hard feelings." I said, standing up. "I just know he's wasn't ready for what I was ready for. And that's fine. Let him figure that out on his own."
Tiffany stood up from my bed. "I completely agree. And you know as much we liked Aubrey, your happiness is what matters to us. So if he was no longer your source of happiness, it was good to get rid of him."
I smiled at her. "Thanks girl."
She nodded. "Well, now that we did enough of the seriousness, can we please go eat and get some wine in my system?"
I laughed before following her and Arabella downstairs.Jasmine
I rocked Aubriana's car seat as she drank her bottle. I sat in front of my sister, Dime as we looked through the menu.
"What do you want, Justin?" she asked.
"I want the chicken fingers, Auntie Dime!" he said, pointing to it.
She laughed. "Okay, what kind of sides you want with it?"
I flipped through the menu before Aubriana began to whine again. I looked at her before seeing her bottle fell out her mouth.
"Awww, you little crybaby." I giggled before putting her bottle back in her mouth.
She just cooed before moving her feet around.
I smiled before my phone began ringing. I looked at the screen before answering.
"Hey." I smiled.
"What's up, ma? Where you at?" Aubrey spoke into my ear.
"I'm out to dinner with Dime, Justin and the baby."
"Oh okay, cool. Let me talk to my babygirl."
I put the phone on speaker and sat it near Aubriana's ear.
"She can hear you." I said.
"Hey daddy's baby. Hey fat girl." He said. I could tell he was smiling.
She dropped her bottle and began to move around, smiling and making a bunch of noises.
It was so cute to see the two of them interact with each other, even if it was over the phone. He just has the effect on her that makes her so happy. She was truly a daddy's girl.
"I love you, baby. I love you so much, I can't wait to see you." He spoke again.
"Jasmine."
I took the phone off speaker and put it on my ear. "Yes?"
"I'm back in town in like two weeks. I got some stuff to handle. But I'm gone stop by and spend a night or two there, that cool?"
I nodded as if he could see me. "Of course, Aubrey. You know that's fine
with me."
"Cool. I'll catch you later."
"Okay, I love you."
But all I heard in respond was the call ending.
I just put my phone in my purse.
"Y'all are so cute." Dime grinned at me. "I told you everything would work out when he got rid of that little hoe, Harmony."
I giggled as I took a bite of my roll. "I know, he was just distracted by her."
Aubriana began to cry loudly. I looked her and figured she needed a diaper change.
I grabbed her diaper bag off the ground. "I'll be back, y'all."
I grabbed her car seat and headed to the bathroom. I went into a stall and changed her diaper quickly before heading to the sink. I sat her carseat on the sink while I washed my hands.
Just then, the door opened and in she walked.
My eyes widen as Harmony stood next to me, retouching up her makeup. I just continued to wash my hands until I heard one of her friends speak up.
"Oh my gosh, your baby is so beautiful!" she said.
She stood like 5'11, with a blonde curly cut. You can tell she was from London, from her strong accent. Her ivory skin glistened effortlessly.
I looked up. "Aw, thanks."
Harmony then looked over at Aubriana. "Yes, she is gorgeous. Can I hold her?"
I hesitated for a minute, thinking she'll recognize me from coming to her house a while back. "Yeah, sure."
She smiled as she unbuckled her and picked her up. "Oh my. Hey baby girl. Hi, you're so beautiful."
"And look at all that hair!" Her other friend exclaimed.
You could easily tell she was more of the outspoken one.
"Wow. We're so rude. I'm Arabella." The tall girl smiled. "And this is Tiffany and Harmony."
Tiffany looked like Harmony's sister. She had long, burgundy hair that stopped at the top of her butt. Her and Harmony stood about 5'6. The only difference is Tiffany's complexion was more of a caramel while Harmony was the shade of mocha.
"I'm Jasmine." I replied.
Tiffany smiled. "How old is she?"
"She's almost 11 months." I spoke.
Aubriana just smiled at Harmony and babbled.
"Those eyelashes, she looks like a real life baby doll." She looked at me. She stared for a second before speaking again. "You look so familiar to me."
I chuckled nervously. "I'm not sure why. But I've seen you before. In the magazines. With Aub--Drake."
"Ugh! Let's not speak of him." Tiffany rolled her eyes. "My girl is onto bigger and better things. She snagged a NBA player." She nudged Harmony.
"Oh stop, Tiff." She grinned, as she redirected her attention back to Aubriana.
"Why'd you guys break up? If you don't mind me asking." I spoke.
She looked at me before laughing. "No, I don't. But it was just...unreconcilable differences." She explained.
"Harms, this is not your divorce papers." Arabella laughed.
"Y'all, I think our food is probably almost done." Tiffany said, looking at her watch.
"You're right." Harmony looked at Aubriana once more before putting her back in her car seat. "Bye bye, baby girl."
"You take care, Jasmine." Arabella smirked at me before walking out the bathroom followed by Tiffany and Harmony.
"You too." I responded.
I sighed loudly after they left.Harmony
"No, I miss you more." I smiled.
"I miss you more." Blake smiled back into the camera.
I was so happy when he decided to FaceTime me in between his practices. I was sitting at my desk, sending these emails to my boss when the call came in.
"Is that the white dress I brought you?" He asked, as he wiped the sweat off his forehead.
I giggled. "Yes, it is. And I even wore the gold heels that you suggested."
"I wish I was there to see you in the full effect."
I blushed. "Aww baby, you'll be back soon hopefully."
"Yeah, or you can just come visit me again." He smirked.
"I would like to come back to LA." I responded.
"Good. Because Coach Rivers asked about you and he wanted me to invite you to come here for Christmas."
I was shocked. "What baby? I would love to but that seems so last minute. I have to take off and book a room and a flight."
He chuckled. "I already called your boss. You're off the day before Christmas, Christmas day and two days after. I even booked your flight and you can stay with me at my house."
I was flattered. "Aww thank you baby. I would love to spend Christmas with you. Christmas in LA."Long chapter, lots of juice.
Jasmine to the side.
