Song: The Dark by SYML
Willa
My headache grew worse after Alexander dropped me off. My parents tried to talk to me when I got home but I told them I needed to sleep although assuring them that I was fine.
My pain only started in my temples but it started to grow larger. I took my clothes off and quickly changed into some sleepwear before going back to sleep, trying to ease my growing headache.
It was bright.
Too bright.
It was blinding as I looked around, trying to figure out where I was. It also seemed like I was in a grass field of some kind. I was also wearing a white, knee-length summer dress with straps. I also had no shoes on. I tries to blink and adjust to the light but it was just so bright.
Suddenly, I heard laughing. I turned my head, trying to figure out where it was and who was laughing. It sounded familiar. I began to walk a bit slowly, afraid to step on something dangerous or of tripping. The grass field was tall, tickling my legs. The win was blowing lightly and it was warm out.
The laughing kept coming in and out. Every so often though, I would hear a much deeper laugh following after the other. As I continued to walk, the voices grew louder. I knew I was close.
As my eyes were adjusting, I saw a silhouette of two people sitting down a few feet away. It looked like there was a woman and a man. I could barely make out their faces due to the light. I wanted to speak and ask who they were but for some reason, I couldn't find my voice.
The woman laughed at something the man said in her ear. Her head tilted back a bit when she laughed. I realized it was me. I was taken aback, stepping back a bit, afraid to be seen by her. I looked over at the man, still unable to see who he was. He was facing away from me so there was no way I could make him out. Dream Willa stood up suddenly, her eyes set on me.
She looked different. Her hair, it was shorter. She looked fuller and more attractive. Her eyes even looked more exquisite. I again tried to say something but again, no words escaped. She bent down and whispered something to the man before walking around him. The man no attempt to look behind him, instead sat there, messing with the grass around him.
"Wake up." She says. I looked at her confused. Wake up?
"Wake up, Willa!" She says louder. I didn't get it. Why was she telling me to wake up?
"Wake up, Willa!" She suddenly screams. It shook the Earth around me, and my head began to pound. I covered my ears, trying to lessen the pain.
"I don't get it!" I yelled back, my voice sounding so low against the raging winds that were now blowing harshly. I didn't know what to do. Dream Willa was looking at me, her eyes wide with panic and worry.
Suddenly, the man behind her stands up.
"You have to wake up, Willa," He says as he begins to turn around. Before I could see who he was though, the light grew brighter, blinding me completely.
My body shoots up as I take a deep breath. My forehead was covered in sweat. I looked around and saw myself back in my bedroom. It was bright outside but not blinding like my drea. My heart was beating fast, trying to slow down as I try to tell myself that it was just a dream.
That voice. It was so familiar. My eyes widened though as I realized where I had heard that voice.
