Asaph made sure he kept the promise he made to himself.
Aziraphale was hanging out with them in their office, not doing anything in particular but enjoying the comfortable silence. Meanwhile Asaph had pulled out his creation records and was flipping through them, hoping one of them would give them an idea. The buzz over Earth was distracting him from his job, Aziraphale wasn't helping but he didn't mind. If he got to spend more time with the Angel then it was worth it.
"Asaph?" Aziraphale looked over, watching Asaph do his thing. "When Earth gets finalized and put into space.. what will you do?"
"What do you mean?" Asaph set the records down, looking at Aziraphale.
"I heard that the Lord, uh, wanted all of the Angels to focus on Earth and that would have included Dominions." Aziraphale frowned slightly but quickly fixed it back into a smile. "And I know how much you adore creating space so I was just wondering..."
"I'm still going to be doing my job." Asaph frowned deeply, grinding down on their teeth.
"Yes well I don't think you would be allowed to go against what you've been told." Aziraphale sounded slightly nervous, glancing at the floor.
"I was told to create celestial bodies, that's it, nowhere in my 'rules for Dominions' folder did it ever say I had to change my job." Asaph crossed their arms, leaning against their desk. "And what would even happen if one Angel didn't change their focus?"
"I don't want you to get hurt Asaph." Aziraphale walked closer to Asaph with concern.
"I'm not going to get hurt Aziraphale, I promise." Asaph closed the large gap between them, still leaving an adequate amount of space.
"Okay.. will you visit me when I start living on Earth?" Aziraphale glanced down and then back up to keep a steady gaze on Asaph.
"I promise I'll visit you, as frequently as I can, every time I visit you'll surely have something new to share with me." Asaph smiled gently as Aziraphale hesitantly held his hand.
"Good, or else I'll have no choice but to march up to Heaven myself and force you to come down to Earth." Aziraphale said brightly, making Asaph burst into laughter.
"Oh I can see it, the holy gates of heaven open up and all I see you is marching towards me at an unnatural speed." Asaph snickered, being able to fully envision it.
"Exactly, so you better mind how long you spend up here." Aziraphale gently tapped Asaphs nose with his free hand.
"I will, I promise, I can imagine Heaven will get insanely boring without you." Asaph rolled their eyes, speaking in a teasing tone.
"Will someone not have anybody to talk to without me?" Aziraphale shot the teasing tone right back at Asaph.
"Oh hush you, you know how much of our existence we spend together." Asaph and Aziraphale moved over to sit down against a column, shoulders pressed against each other.
"That won't change right? We'll always hang out together still, everything will stay the same." Aziraphale looked hopeful, Asaph giving a firm nod in response.
"Absolutely nothing will change when you get promoted, we'll still be friends." Asaph felt as though the word 'friends' wasn't the correct way to describe their relation, but she couldn't figure out why.
"

Good, I would have to have a very strong word with you if that wasn't the case." Aziraphale tilted his head to rest it on Asaphs shoulder, Asaph tilting his head to rest is on Aziraphales.

"I don't think that will be necessary at any point." Asaph hummed, gently rubbing his thumb over Aziraphales hand.
"

Well, that's good, means I'll always have you." Aziraphale shifted his gaze to look up at Asaph as much as he could.
"Obviously, I'm confident not even the Lord could separate us if she wanted to." Asaph said confidently with a proud grin.
"Do you really believe that?" Aziraphale asked, sounding uncertain.
"Yes I do, have you met us? Ever since we met we've have this bond that no Angel could ever dream of having." Asaphs proud grin shifted more into a gentle smile.
"That's true, I'm so glad we do have this bond, I wouldn't be the same if we hadn't met." Aziraphale sighed, leaning more into Asaph.
"I wouldn't be either, I'm proud of who I am with you." Asaph put Aziraphales hand in their left hand so she could wrap her right around him.

"It's going to be weird living on Earth, I'm not sure how well I'll blend in." Aziraphale frowned, staring at their interlocked hands.
"You're an Angel, you'll fit in perfectly no matter where you go." Asaph said confidently, "You'll make that place your home, I know it."
"Wherever you are is my home Asaph, I don't want it to be anywhere else." Aziraphale looked back up.
"Oh don't you worry, whenever I can't visit I'll send you a note about how I'm doing, that way we'll always be in contact with each other." Asaph promised, gently squeezing Aziraphales hand.
"I'll make sure I keep every single one." Aziraphale squeezed back, a warm glow imitting from him.
"You better, or maybe I'll have to be the one having a very strong word with you." Asaph joked, gently nudging him.
"Oh how dare you even suggest such a thing." Aziraphale scoffed, "I wouldn't even dream of throwing away one of your precious notes." Asaph laughed, throwing their head forward before laying it back on Aziraphales head.
"Precious notes? Am I going to head down there after a while and see them all pinned up on a wall with hearts surrounding them?" Asaph teased, a huge lopsided grin stuck on their face.
"Hush! I'm not doing anything of the sorts." Aziraphale huffed, his face turning a brilliant shade of red.
"Awww come on, it would be so endearing to see." Asaph snickered, Aziraphale jokingly jabbing Asaphs hip with his elbow.
"They will be safely kept in a folder, that is it." Aziraphale said firmly, crossing his arms.
"Whatever you say Aziraphale." Asaph smiled, letting his gaze drift away as they settled back down into comfortable silence once again.
