Ricky's POV I had a nice dinner. Dad came over with Aunt Judy and my cousins, and my mom came too.
But I couldn't stop thinking of my girlfriend.
I'm an adult now, and I'm in what'd I'd say is a pretty serious relationship. People can't tell me anymore that as an adult I can't step away to make a call. And they can't say that family comes first.
They're right.
And she is family.
Gina's POV Mom ate dinner with me and then was back off to work.
Of course.
I walk up the two flights of stairs to my room, or that attic. I slide onto my piano bench, fiddling with the keys for a bit.
I hear a ring and wonder if one of those demo songs in the keyboard is starting to play, but then realize it's just my phone.
And it's my Ricky.
"Hey." I say, only then realizing how drained my voice sounds.
"Hello, my Darling. You busy?"
"Nope."
"You alone?" I can almost hear the frown.
"Yep."
"Be ready in twenty. Dress casual."
I smile, hearing the sounds singalong he hung up. If only I knew what this boy had in store.
I slip on a pair of jeans and a cropped blue sweater with a geometric pattern. It buttons over my stomach, opening a bit around my belly button.

Secret POV "Hey...I know I've needed some time, but I think we should plan to see each other again...Happy Thanksgiving to you too."
Ricky's POV "Ricky...you didn't tell me they had a ferris wheel at the Fall Festival you were taking me too!"
"Gina, we've been dating for a year and three months and we haven't had a romantic ferris wheel date yet. Come on."
I grab her hand, taking her along with me to the surprisingly short line. Guess that's what happens when you have a festival in the middle of the woods in an empty meadow.
Romantic, right!?

We reach the top, and of course, like in all movies, there's a screech. It stops.
Gina looks at me. But instead of panicking, we lean towards each other and kiss.
I grab her hips, pulling her to my side of the ride, our car swinging.
"I love you." I say, gasping for air, and kissing her again.
"Thank you, Ricky Bowen, for taking things my speed."
"I've learned to take things slow. From my experiences, my dad, and even Seb."
Please tell me that someone gets the "take it slow" reference with Seb!?
