Gina's POV
"Okay, take this chunk now." I instructed Ricky. He was attempting to style my hair today after my shower.

"Gi, you don't have to be nice. If I'm just going to make your hair impossible to work with or I'm hurting it, please tell me it's stop."

"You're not, I promise."

"Really? Okay. What do I do next?"

"So what you want to do is..."

•••

"Hey, Gi, do you want to go get some breakfast at a cafe down the road?"

"Sure. If you want to." I shrugged.

"I'd love to if you're okay with it."

"Let's stop with all the niceties. Let's just go." I laughed.

"Okay, come on!"

•••

Ricky opened the passenger seat door for me, walking to his side when I stooped him, grabbing his arm.

"Wait. Can I- could I drive."

Ricky's POV
I looked over at Gina, her head lowered to the ground, her face blushing heavily.

I titled my head to the side, frowning slightly.

"Yeah. Yeah, sure, come on." I waved her over, handing her the keys.

"Sorry." She mumbled.

"Don't apologize. I would've offered, you just don't usually like driving.

"Yeah, but I know I'm safe with you."

"Always." I pulled off the serious face. "I got you, girl." I snapped, sassily.

"Stop." She laughed.

•••

"How you doing, Gi?" I asked, looking at her nervous eyes on the road.

"I'm good."

"What's wrong? Are you nervous?"

"Not about the driving part, it's just...you're such a better driver than me." She sighed, her shoulders slumping.

"I've had more practice, and a better teacher. I've been driving for three years, and you've had just months of driving alone."

"Yeah, that's true."

"Just keep going. You're doing just fine." I assured her.

•••

"What can I get you?"

"Nope. I'm paying." She said, standing up, and walking to the counter proudly.

"You don't even know what I want!"

"Yes I do!"

•••

"Here ya go."

"Thank you. What'd you get?"

"Iced tea. A chocolate croissant for my baby Ricky, and a chocolate croissant for me. And some fruit salad." She laughed.

"Nice."

•••

"So you loving work?" She asked, squeezing my hand.

"Yeah. The dogs are cute. I love everything I'm doing, and love my co workers."

"What's your favorite class right now?" She asked.

I loved her so much. She was giving me all of her undivided attention, and I knew then she genuinely cared about my success and happiness in school and work.

"I'm taking this song writing class. It's really interesting, we learn about song writers and also write some poetry. I've got some good stuff coming."

She nodded, content with the answer.

"What about you?"

"You know I love English."

"Yeah, that's all you."

"Come on, song writing isn't that different."

"True, I suppose. Want to head back to the apartment, hang a while longer."

"Anywhere with you, Bowen."
