A/N: Welcome to a new chapter! This one took a while to come out, but I promise you it's worth it to read! Thanks for coming back to read!

—————

My alarm dings happily and I groan. I lie in bed for a moment, the alarm still going off before I finally get up.

Sitting up, I shut off the alarm. I throw my legs over to the side of the bed, rubbing my eyes with a hand. I stand up to stretch, placing my hands on my back to crack my tight joints. I stretch out my wings which are stiff and get a glimpse of their neutral blue hue.

I flip the covers so they look nice, straightening them out, and I fix the pillows.

I sigh before heading over to the window and throwing the curtains open. I ruffle my hair with my hands, running them through the knots. The city's already bustling with activity and it's only four-thirty in the morning. I stare out the window and relax as the warmth of the sun washes over me and the rest of the city.

I hear a knock on the door and instead of going over to it I just talk through the door, "Come in." My voice comes out rough and groggy.

The door opens and I look over my shoulder to find the seraphim, Sera, in the doorway, standing there awkwardly. "I didn't wake you did I?" I barely stop myself from rolling my eyes. How would I've gotten up fast enough to get over here?

I just shrug instead, "No. Do you need something?" I ask.

She shakes her head, "I just wanted to tell you that we have a meeting today. Court wants to talk to all of us today." She explains and I hum.

"Right. Well, better not keep them waiting." I wait for her to leave so I can change. I grab my clothes and look back at her. I raise a brow when I see she hasn't left yet, "are you going to go down there or are you gonna watch me change?" I ask, already pulling off my sweater from last night.

I was too tired to change last night so I wore a sweater and black pants to bed. Sera's face flushes and she apologizes quickly, "Sorry, I'll tell them you're coming."

I nod, "Thanks."

The door closes and I finish changing into a white and gold suit. I head into the small bathroom to slick back my hair and style it, brushing my teeth and washing my face with warm water.

I finished off by looking around my room to make sure I got everything before leaving with my umbrella.

I head out the door and I'm met with a few maidens that hand me a cup of coffee. "Good morning, Hellebore." I nod to them, taking a sip of my drink.

"All is well I'd assume?" They smile, nodding and I plant a small smile on my face. I turn away and the smile vanishes. Not because I don't like them, but because I'm still mostly waking up from getting three hours of sleep.

I walk down the long hall and get to the main area on the balcony. Instead of taking the stairs, I decided to just jump over the railing. I land gracefully on the ground below, my wings spread out to catch some wind to slow the pull of gravity (There's not much up here anyway though)

Everyone turns to me and I stand up as if nothing happened. They all nod and greet me.

"Hi Hellebore/Hello!/Good to see you, Hellebore!" They greet me with. I respond with a smile and a nod.

"Thank you for being able to make it. I know you were busy." One of the dominions, Dominic, greets me.

I just nod, "I know it's probably important."
