Husk POV
/At the Casino before meeting Val\
"Husker!" I'm sitting in my office when I hear Alastor come in.
I straighten out my paperwork that I finally finished, "Yes Alastor?" I stand before grabbing a pen and signing my name at the bottom of the paper to continue the creation of the new bar.
He walks over to me, his shadow flickering.
"That stupid tv's pet wants me to come down to there studio." I pause, papers falling into the 'take out' box.
"What?" Dread flows through my body.
He huffs, "that what I thought too." His permanent smile grows menacingly his eye twitching in annoyance.
"You have to come with me." He almost pleads, "I'm going to kill that pet otherwise."
I smile, "why not do just that? I'm sure you've kept him alive longer than you've wanted to."
Antlers start to grow from his head and I just sigh, "fine, I'll go with you... but you owe me." I add before he can rejoice. "I don't like that asshole anymore than you do."
He shrugs, "we have to be there by eleven thirty." I look at the clock. We have around fourth five minutes.
"Fine, I'll meet you downstairs at eleven?" He nods and heads out the door.
I groan, this is going to be great. I quickly change into some nicer clothes, although not like the one I would where if I was going to see any other overlord.
I grab my umbrella and a deck of cards. Why? To have something to do while Val and Alastor have their 'meeting,' though I doubt I'll have much downtime.
I hide my umbrella in my wings and do some simple tricks as I head down to the main entrance. I find Alastor already there and we head out, opting for a long walk to take as much time as we can to stay out of Valentino's presence. We get to the V's studios at exactly eleven thirty.
Some workers lead us up to Val's office.
He looks up as soon as we enter, he looks pissed when he looks at me but quickly replaces it with a sickly-sweet smile.
"I'm glad you're here, let's get started." Alastor takes a seat and I grab a chair to sit beside him.
It's mostly them just talking about some deals between souls before I realize that they are talking about working together to kill exorcists during the extermination. "Why would I want to help you?" Alastor asks, clearly resisting the urge to roll his eyes.
Val smirks, "we both have plenty of souls that die each extermination, and it takes forever to find new souls that are good enough to replace the old ones."
It would help if you didn't kill half of your employees yourself, I think. Alastor's smile widens and I answer for him, "you think we need new employees? Our souls know how to do shit themselves."
Val's eye twitches, "yes, well, maybe you'll change your mind when I propose my idea."
Al and I share a glance.
"I say that if you help me get rid of these things, I'll get both of you some help to get more people to get you money." Alastor's forever smile is an actual smirk and I laugh.
"You think we need help getting souls?" Val's smile turns to a frown.
"Fine, but I know that both of your little investments in the hellish tell, or whatever it's called, might go better if the exorcists wouldn't keep aiming at the hotel." He smiles as Alastor ponders this. He spends a lot more time an effort with the Hotel than I ever did or would.
