It was time for lunch. Both of you had cleaned up, and you might have helped each other out...in the shower. The two of you were having fun, like two people do when they declare their interest in each other. You might not know what you were, but like Bucky pointed out, you didn't need to. What you both needed to know, you had shared. You liked each other, and liked to spend time, physically with each other. That was enough for now. You had cleaned up the kitchen and set it up for your parents as they were entering.

"It smells nice," your father said as he sat down.

You gave him a slight smile. You and your dad had never been close, but he was always around. It had never been good, but you two had never been bad either. He just normally tended to stay behind your mother. Which definitely was the reason why your father felt like a distant stranger to you at times. You began giving out the soup to them.

"Y/n I heard you didn't pay Casper for the work he did," Your mom said.

You were laughing low at her comment. Of course, she couldn't wait more than five seconds before she brought the mood down with her to hell. You remembered what James had told you. We were going in with a smile, so you were going to answer with a smile.

"You should've told me he was coming," You tried to soften up the tone of your voice. Your mother noticed the change, you no longer sounded bitter.

"It's so sweet of him to still offer to help," Your mother said. She wanted nothing more than the two of you to get together, he was a sweet boy and the two of you were good together. It was time for you to begin thinking about children, and Casper could provide a safe home for them. Even greater was that you would definitely be living close by. She couldn't wait for grandkids.

"You know, Casper was Y/n's high school sweetheart, they were together for-" Your mother began to say looking over at Bucky.

"I know who Casper is," Bucky plastered on a fake smile, nodding his head.

Your mother smiled and nodded. Oh, how great. Then Bucky knew how wonderful Casper was. Maybe he could pursue Y/n into some sanity. Someone had to tell her she needed to think faster. Bucky was from an older generation, he must understand how she thought. Your mother was only being practical. Your generation didn't understand those values. Bucky understood that, you weren't getting younger. The clock was ticking. Bucky must be swarming with ladies, having quite the opposite challenge from lonely you.

"So how is your dating life Bucky?" Your mother asked as she tried the surprisingly well soup. The question caused Bucky to cough.

Bucky looked over at your mother in fear. What was going on? Where did all these questions come from? Him and your mother were comfortable in each other's company, but he did not like these questions. He stared over at you. Could they have heard the two of you? No, it was not possible. With Bucky's hearing he would've known if they were anywhere near in approximate. You were shocked by your mothers question, and so was your father. Everyone waiting for his reply. Bucky might lie for a living, but he struggled to find a good cover. He swallowed low.

"I am a quiet guy, my fun is over," He tried to laugh off her question.

Your mother laughed with him.

"I bet girls are sending you letters all the time," She insisted.

Bucky needed your mother to really change the topic. He wanted to see your face, but you were like a robot eating the food. He didn't need to be a mind reader to understand that you were at least just as uncomfortable as him. This was not a good situation for any of you to be in. He looked down at his hands, his fingers, tapping the table.

"Again, I'm comfortable where I am," He said standing up, walking towards you.

He tasted the soup. Trying to avoid your mothers gaze, as he feared what other door her questions would open. You were struggling to hide your emotions at this moment. It was an explosion of emotions going on. A mix of anger and embarrassment dancing around in your face. Bucky didn't like seeing you this uncomfortable. You deserved better. He smiled softly down to you when you finally looked up at him. You were right, your mother did have a tendency to overstep, to the point where it was inappropriate.

"A guy like you should not be alone, I should set you up with my friends daughter, she is a lawyer, she actually work-" Your mother began.

"I have zero interest in seeing any women at this point, and with all due respect Mrs Y/l/n, I have lost my appetite and will leave" Bucky said, already regretting his direct tone.

Bucky stood up, as he did what he had warned your mother. He walked away up towards the guest room. It was an horrible action he had committed too, but he needed the space. Your mother were like a toxic spider, trying to throw it's web. Bucky was not into spiders, of any form. He began to clean up the room.

You looked up at your parents, unable to speak. You knew what James had done, changed the dynamics of the group. Your mother, for the first time in her life, seemed to have a look of shame across her face. One thing was her sabotagining our relationship. You were her daughter, you would need to respect each other, but James... She had to earn his trust, and she had just kicked it too pieces.

"I'll go and check on him," Your father offered. You took down the spoon, stood up and looked at them.

"No, I will. He was nice enough to help me today, I wanna make sure he is fine," You said softly, walking towards the door. You stopped in the doorway and looked back at your mother. She had been silent for over 10 minutes, which must be some form of a record.

"Mom, it's okay with me that you treat me rather harsh. I understand I am a disappointment, and will always be," You said staring out to the living room before you turned around facing her.

"But you need to stop projecting your ideas of how people are, into other people. We might not want to live exactly as you, doesn't mean it's anything wrong with us," You said low, and walked upstairs, before neither of them were able to speak.

Your dad looked over at your mother intertwining their hands.

"She is right," he whispered over to her.

"Of course she is," Your mother whispered, slightly annoyed.

You walked upstairs, and knocked on his door. You didn't wanna intrude and just waltz in. He might want some time alone. He opened the door for you. He breathed out relived of the sight of you. He wrapped his hands around you and held you tight into a hug. He closed the door behind you.  Bucky laughed low, gently grabbing your hand. He peaked a kiss from your lips.

"Let's not stay here, it was a bad idea from my side," Bucky whispered against your lips.

You nodded softly, as a smirk appeared on your face.

"Ah, can you say it again? It sounds so good when you admit you are wrong," You teased him. He pulled you into a hug, laughing.

"Wait until I tell you, I only wanna leave because I want us to have more sex-" He began to say, letting his one hand squeeze your bum softly.

"You are so childish to be 108," You teased him back, as the two of you prepared to leave.
