HARRY STYLES
Even though the days are at least slightly warming up now that we're in the middle of March, I still have a tremendously difficult time trying to get out of bed. It might as well be the dead of winter in my room and Lana's body is so warm under the sheets. I physically can't seem to pull myself away and untangle my limbs from hers and I don't want to.
The last two weeks at the restaurant have been hell and I'm not quite sure why. Business has been great and we're booked out for the next nine months with no cancelations in the last four months. My team has been working as hard as ever and I feel as though I've been asked to come out to the dining room to be personally thanked by our guests more than usual lately. Everything with Lana is great, I'm friends with my ex and her new boyfriend, Jane is five years old and healthy. I have absolutely no reason to feel as down as I do and I don't know how to fix it.
"Harry," Lana suddenly croaks out a laugh, forcing me to whip my head up from her shoulder. I had no idea she was awake.
"What?"
"Stop moving!" She giggles.
"Oh," I laugh and relax my head on the pillow next to hers. "Sorry."
She rolls over to face me and blindly raises her hand to touch my chest before sliding it up to the side of my neck. "Why can't you sleep?"
My eyes rake all over her features as she leaves her eyes closed, but I can tell she's still awake and waiting for me to answer her. "I'm not excited to go to work lately."
Although it takes a second, she opens her eyes to meet my stare, blinking slowly. "Why not?"
"Dunno," I brush my thumb along her pouting lips. "Need to find some kind of motivation."
"Hm," a crease forms between her brows until I smooth it out and lift my head to kiss her.
She holds the back of my neck and lazily reciprocates, brushing the tips of her fingers down my bare chest until they settle on the drawstrings of my sweats to pull me closer by the waistband. I move on top of her, breathing her in with my eyes glued shut and my lips matching her lazy pace. Regardless if we have sex, I love kissing her like this early in the morning when it feels like we're the only two people in this city who are awake.
As soon as I feel her trying to roll us over, I fall to my side and roll onto my back, watching with heavily hooded eyelids as she climbs on top of me and cups my jaw to kiss me again. My hands fly to her hips, squeezing and kneading them underneath her shirt as she stretches herself out between my legs. I let my hands wander and roam all over her body until she straddles my waist and drops her hands on my chest, digging her nails into my skin as I force her hips to tick forward.
I feel her smiling against my lips right before she deepens the kiss, and I start playing with the waistline of her underwear as her phone starts going off on her nightstand. It's far too early for anyone to be calling her, so it's a no-brainer for us to stop. As she picks it up to find that it's Allison, I think we both start to panic.
"Hello?" She switches the phone to speaker mode.
"Hey, I'm so sorry to call you so early, but I guess a pipe burst in my office and I really need to get down there as soon as possible. Is there any way you can come early and stay here with Jane so I can go?"
"Y-yeah, of course," Lana is already climbing out of bed as I move away from her. "I can be there in 45 minutes or so. Is that too late?"
"No, that's fine. Thank you so much-sorry again."
"Don't worry about it, I'll see you soon," Lana hangs up and turns to me as I remain sitting with the duvet piled in my lap. "Sorry."
"Not your fault," I kiss her back before she disappears down the hall to brush her teeth and get ready to go.
