"Can baby Mason come swimming too?" Jane asked, standing adorable in her two-piece swimsuit with her little pot belly pushed out and her ringlets dripping on the warm sand.
I pouted in return because I knew she wasn't going to be happy to hear this answer. "Baby Mason is too little to swim, but he can put his feet in with you."
She tilted her head with a sad look like I knew she would. "But I wanted him to swim with me."
"I know, baby," I tilted my head right back. "Let's see if maybe he likes to have his feet in, yeah?"
She happily agreed and led the way back toward the water just as Harry started walking back to the shore. I had to remind myself that two children were present as my gaze dropped to his toned and tanned midsection. No man should look the way he does.
"Is Mason going to go for a swim?" He asked.
"We're going to try," I handed him over so I could remove my blue and white pinstripe button-down, leaving me in a white bandeau bikini.
"C'mon, baby Mason!" Jane encouraged him in a sweet, high-pitched voice.
After taking his jumper off, he was left in a soft denim bucket hat and a swim diaper underneath his blue shorts with red lobsters on them. He had a resting pout on his lips, per usual, but his expression changed dramatically once the waves came to lick at his chubby ankles. He squealed and attempted to jump even though I was holding him just slightly above the ground.
"He's so funny!" Jane giggled and kneeled in front of him to kiss his cheek.
"I can't tell if he likes it or not," I chuckled as I tried to see his face.
"Let me see him," Harry laughed and took him out of my hands to kneel on the shore just like Jane was.
As he sat down on the sand with Mason in his lap, I moved around to stand in front of them so I could see him giggle and scream again as the water lapped over his legs and belly that time. I took a quick picture to post on my story despite the one I already posted on my feed, but this weekend was so special.
Just like when we came to Montauk with Jane before Mason was born, we decided to come to the Hamptons to have a family trip before Harry and I would be getting married in just two weeks. All we had left to do was have our respective bachelorette and bachelor parties, but everything else was taken care of at that point. That meant it was time for us to relax and spend some time with our kids before we would leave on our honeymoon.
"He loves it," I smiled, lowering to my knees to kiss the grin on his face. "Does that water feel nice, baby?"
He flailed his arms out by his sides, giggling contagiously again as the waves drenched his lower half with Harry still holding him securely in his lap. While he had him, I followed Jane out into the water until we were just waist deep. Well, I was waist-deep, but she was in my arms clinging to me like a monkey while the waves gently rocked us.
