Resting my head on Harry's shoulder, I smiled at the sight of us on his phone screen while we waited for his mom to answer our FaceTime call. Harry smiled back at me, turning to kiss my forehead just as Anne accepted the call. Her dark hair was cut short to her shoulders and sort of flipped out at the ends, and she had reading glasses on. I can't believe I almost forgot how pretty she is.

"Hey, Mum," Harry said.

"Hi, darling," she replied with a slightly suspicious smile. "What's going on?"

"How are you?" He retorted. "Anything new?"

"No, I've just had dinner with Michal and Gemma," she peered over her shoulder from where she was sitting on a couch. I realized then that they were the ones making noise in the background. "What are you two up to?"

Harry said, "Well, I took the night off to make dinner for Lana and her parents. Once a month, they try to do a special dinner together, so I thought I'd make them a nice meal free of charge."

"Oh, well, that's sweet of you," she smiled her sweet smile at him-the one he inherited from her. "Where are you?"

"We're at Lana's friend's flat," Harry answered, looking at me now. "She's moving out next week, though."

"Yeah?" Anne beamed. "Into your new flat?"

"Mhm," I finally chimed in. "I'm so excited. It's such a beautiful home and I hope you can come see it soon."

"Me too," she sighed, raising a glass of wine to her dark pink lips. "I feel like Jane must be a teenager by now. I haven't spoken to her in at least a month, so how is she doing? She's alright?"

"She's great, yeah," Harry waved as his sister and her boyfriend appeared in the background to say hello, then joined Anne on the couch. "We actually have some good news that we wanted to share with you if you have a minute."

Anne's brows raised. "Go on."

I exchanged a smile with Harry before saying, "I'm pregnant!"

As somewhat expected, Anne's smile vanished, replaced by a slackened jaw. "What?!"

"You're pregnant?!" Gemma shouted in the background, scrambling to sit next to her mother so she could see us on the screen.

"Yes!" I laughed through my predictable tears. I was crying all the goddamn time.

"Oh my God!" Anne all but squeaked. "Well-goodness, I have so many questions-how far along are you? When did you find out? How are you doing?"

"Um," I chuckled and wiped my tears, trying to focus. "I'm three months and I found out right after we had come home from Paris. I think I might have been pregnant that week and maybe the week before, but as soon as we got home, I was hit with this crazy flu-like illness. I had a fever for a couple of days and then cold symptoms, but I was also throwing up at every icky smell, so that was how I decided that I should take a test, and...yeah. I'm doing much, much better now."
