"Why are you legit glowing?" Lara asks, after removing her helmet.
"No, I'm not. I'm normal." I reply with a convincing smile but she isn't having any of it.
"You fucked! Who? Miss Moore?" She asks and then answers herself. "Nah that can't be it, you're a goody two shoes."
Kiara joins us and I try to avoid her eyes, I don't want her to start her nagging questions again.
"Isn't she glowing?" Lara asks.
Kiara looks at me with scrunched eyebrows and nods, "You are... Did you fuck someone?"
"That's what I was saying!"
"Stop... I didn't."
"Wow, so convincing." Lara says, noticing my blush. Her eyes light up as she asks, "Was it that girl from the bar? That dipshit's sister?"
"What? No!"
"It was! It was his sister! I saw you both talk, she was flirty. And your type. What was her name again?"
"Kaylee." Kiara replies.
"Maya fucked Kaylee!" Lara yells and I block her mouth.
"Don't shout, you idiot. We're in public."
She whispers now, "Or maybe Kaylee fucked Maya?"
"Yeah, that's more convincing." Kiara says.
"Hey, loser! How does it feel to be humiliated in front of the entire bar." Adrian joins us.
Lara cringes and pushes him towards me as she says, "Ugh you stink! Get off my side. And I didn't lose, I let you win."
"Pfft- Liar! You're just a sore loser."
"Shut it, your sister fucked Maya."
"My sister did what?!"
"Don't spread rumours!" I say. "People are already too hungry for drama here."
"I mean... I'd be happy if my sister married you."
"Woah, woah, chocolate boy," Lara says, waving her hands around. "Too far."
"What? I'm just stating facts. We could hang out like all the time!" He says. Okay that was cute, but no, thank you.
"She's already wifed up."
Adrian quirks his eyebrows up and asks, "By who?"
Alicia passes by us, her hands slightly brushing mine, so discreetly that even I would've missed it if I wasn't paying attention.
"By her." Lara says and Adrian looks at Alicia walking away, then back up at me and laughs aloud.
"What's so funny?" I ask, quiet offended. Does he think I can't get her?
"You're just-" He says in between that godmother laugh, "Look at you, you're the good girl. Yes, you have everyone's attention, but you're not one of the mean girls. Then look at her, she must've been a mean girl in her school. Now, she's the hot teacher, who's a moody bitch. You're opposites. This is real life, nothing will happen. It'll be a good plot for a Wattpad book though"
"She isn't a bitch!" I defend, blocking out the rest. But his words do sting. What if it really doesn't work out? I mean what even are we? Friends? We haven't talked about it. Does she just want this for the fun of it? Or does she want a future with me? A student of her's? That seems unlikely. Even if she does want this, would I even be able to give her all that she deserves? Will I be able to get out of my parent's arrangement? And knowing her past with other women and relationships, would I be enough? Does she like me enough?
