"Can we go to that lake now?" Maya asks, rubbing her eyes as she comes out of the shower wearing my pair of tee and shorts, looking oh so breathtaking.
"Mhmm... But you need to eat," I speak, as I go up to her. Her arms immediately finding my waist as she hugs me. I place my chin on her shoulders leaning down, rolling her hair strands on my fingers. "What should we have for breakfast?"
Maya exhales tracing her fingertips over my collarbones, inhaling my scent she says, "You smell so nice."
"You smell even better. You're very tempting you know.... wearing that and smelling so sweet," I reply, trailing my hands from her back to her cheeks as I pull her for the gentlest kiss. "It's very hard for me to control around you." I mumble against her lips.
"You're sweet."
"Have you met you?"
"You're sweeter."
"And you're my most sweetest."
Maya laughs, pushing me away and says, "We're never going to leave if we keep doing that."
"Okay, okay. I'll stop." I speak, "You really are the sweetest though." She rolls her eyes with a small smile. I was never one to be lovey dovey, but her, I'd do anything to make her feel better and see that smile.
"Breakfast first." I say, taking her downstairs. I'm glad she seems better than yesterday. She wept for hours before falling asleep in my arms. I tried my best to comfort, but that probably didn't help as much. This though... This helps.
"Oh my God... What's all this?"
I see her look down at all the stuff spread over the table and mentally slap myself for forgetting about cleaning it up.
"Fuck... I can explain..."
"What do you mean?" She asks looking back at me, eyes even more glassy and glossy. I search her eyes and she says, "You... You brought someone else here?"
"No! No, I didn't." I exhale, getting her closer as I intertwine our hands. Why would she think that?
I hold her chin up explaining, "I was going to surprise you, I had planned everything before we arrived. But then when you opened up to me, I thought this wasn't really a good time for a date..."
"I don't want anyone except you, Maya. Remember that for me, please..." I say and see her nod a little as she looks at the little table with stuff randomly sitting. I should've cleaned this up before.
"The flowers are pretty..." She says running her hands through the petals. She holds her hand out asking, "Want to have that date?"
I hold her hand but say, "Don't you want to have something better than this? This is all such a mess, the lights are scattered, most of the candle's wax is broken. Only the flowers look decent."
"No one's ever done anything like this for me..."
"Honey..." I squeeze her hands in mine as I say, "This is nothing. I promise we'll have more dates, much better ones.... You deserve the world, not this mess... For today though, should we have a picnic date near the lake? I want you to be in a better place, angel. Would you feel happy near the lake?"
She nods and speaks, "I'm happy, I'm happy with you... Are you?"
"Very happy."
Maya smiles, looking up. I get closer to her and lean down.
"Can we party now?" I ask, closing my fists and turn it to her to mimic a mic. The Lana Del Rey song playing in the back of my mind.
I hear her giggle as she holds my wrist getting the mic closer to her lips and says a much more confident, "Yes."
