Maya's pov:
I open the page of my drawing book where I left off last time. I continue to draw Sher's eyes. They are the same shade of brown as her's.
She and I were friends, inseparable friends. I adored her, we used to have so much fun. She was fun. Sometimes shy and cute, but mostly fun. We'd always laugh and hangout together.
Everyone loved to see us together, well except for kaka and kaku. They didn't like her too much but I never really cared about their comments. I loved her. I truly did love her, maybe a certain part of me always will. I would've done anything for her. Would've given her anything she'd want.
But all that wasn't enough for Reema, that's why she broke everything we had- or could've had. I haven't talked to her since.
"We're going out tonight. We'll be back tomorrow evening!" Kaka shouts, knocking on the door a couple times.
"Okay!" I yell and continue to draw my portrait.
Kaka busts the door open, making my heart jump. "Are you okay?" He asks, more like demands if I'm okay or no, as he sits on the bed looking at my drawings.
"Yeah. Why won't I be?"
"You didn't tease me that I'm going on a date with your kaku." He says.
"Do you like me teasing you so much?"
"Ugh no." He groans. "You know what I mean. You've been quite, more than usual. Otherwise you always have something to talk about."
"Today was just boring, that's all."
"You've literally talked for hours about that teacher of yours when she was absent once. I'm happy you're concentrating on your studies but it's really boring to hear, bacha."
"Okay then. I had school, six classes and now I'm here drawing."
He rolls his eyes and gets up from the bed. "If you need anything, call me. We aren't going that far anyways."
"Okay, okay. Go now. Kaku will take Ronan out if you don't."
"Why have you brought that annoying elephant!" He says.
"Ay don't talk bad about my Ronan."
"Nobody loves me here." He says and ruffles my hair, messing them up again.
I groan, pushing him away, "What's your obsession, man!"
"You're too dramatic!" He shouts once he closes the door behind him.
"So are you!" I roll my eyes and continue to sketch.
I'm painting the kids again. I'll be giving them these the next time I meet them, that'll be in two days. I've given one to a few kids before but since I've met so many new faces since a couple months, I feel like they should have one too. I don't really know if they truly like the drawings or no, maybe they find it boring. They're kids afterall.
Drawing is my stress buster. I love to draw and write. Now that she's here, I need this even more. Alicia saved me today, but Reema's too persistent to stop.
I check the clock and pack up all the art supplies. I have to go to work now.
Fixing my dress, I grab the headphones from the counter and lock the door as I leave, walking towards 'Barnes and Babbles'.
Turning towards the block, I feel as though someone's eyes are on me. I look around, finding no one.
The whole street is empty, expect for one lesbian couple walking their dog. Seeing them, a smile forms on my face. I try not to stare at them for more than a second and instead continue my walk, or they'll think I'm a homophobe or something.
