Chapter twelve: Chicago (week eight)

"this better be good," bailey sighed, answering her phone at five am. "hello dear director, why am i being called at five am?"

"hey bailey," bailey could practically feel jeff rolling his eyes through the phone. "i hate to wake you up this early, but jacob's sick, so we need someone to go with dan and zach to a press thing. any chance you want to do it?"

"sure, why not?" bailey yawned as she rolled out of bed. "what's it for and what's attire?"

"good day chicago," jeff answered as bailey tucked her phone between her ear and her shoulder. "something niceish probably, no tears or stains. like you wore for the gma interview with corey and akb last year."

"i wore jeans and a newsie tank last year, it's too cold to wear that," bailey answered. "is that what you're going for though?"

"that works."

"it's too fucking early and cold as hell," bailey joined zach and dan in the living room of the airbnb once she was dressed. she was wearing jeans with her papermill playhouse henley with her big puffy jacket over it. once she curled her hair, did makeup, and grabbed a thing of overnight oats from the mini fridge, she headed downstairs.

"i thought you of all people would be used to this, charles," zach taunted.

"go to hell, zachary," bailey led the way outside to the uber waiting for them. dan cackled as he followed the girl with zach sulking behind them. "why are these interviews always so early?"

after the interview, bailey went back to her room she shared with daisy in the airbnb to get ready to do a takeover for the newsies instagram page.

"hey fansies," bailey was sitting outside of the room against the door with her phone propped against the opposite wall. "i'm bailey jackson, i play bandit and understudy hannah, and i'm taking over the instagram today, so get ready to follow along."

bailey ended that video and posted it on the newsies instagram before going back into her room to change for the day.

"is the takeover today?" daisy asked as bailey came back into the room.

"yep," bailey called from the closet that she had stored some stuff in since the tour was in chicago for two weeks. "i just started it in the hallway. do you want to go early to the theater with me? i have some christmas amazon presents to pick up."

"sure, why not?" daisy answered. "can we go to starbucks first though?"

"of course."

"hey ya'll, it's bailey-"

"and daisy," the two girls were walking.

"we are walking to starbucks right now," bailey said as she kept her phone in selfie style as she videoed. "it's like twenty or something degrees outside so we're cold."

"chicago, i hate your weather," daisy shivered as the girls walked. "and i grew up in fredericksburg virginia."

"we are very lucky that starbucks is a five minute walk from our airbnb," bailey spoke into her phone as she filmed the starbucks entrance after switching the camera out of selfie mode. "we will see you after starbucks."
