chapter five: the week before leaving

Monday Night

the night of the first rehearsal for newsies on tour was time for the newsboys of new york reunion show at fifty four below starring the broadway cast. bailey and daisy had been practicing in the studio everyday after tour rehearsals for the song they were doing together. on some days, brody had stayed after with the two of them to do his school work in the rehearsal space but most days he took the subway back to the apartment.

"you're stressing about nothing, charlotte," brody was laying on bailey's bed in the two bedroom apartment tossing a tennis ball to the ceiling.

"will you quit it with the ball?" bailey's voice came from inside of her closet as she looked for something to wear. "last thing, we need is for ms johnson to bang on our door again because you've been annoying. how does this look?" bailey stepped out of her closet wearing a white dress with a tied back.

"it looks good," brody shrugged.

"cameron," bailey whined at her younger brother. "you're no help. I'm calling thayne." thayne jasperson was a part of the original broadway cast and papermill playhouse cast of newsies, and one of bailey's best friends. the two had bonded over their love of harry potter and both being gryffindors, he was also like the big brother she needed when it came to fashion advice

"have fun with that, sis."

"hey jackson five fans, bailey here," bailey was carrying a camera as she and brody walked to fifty four below. brody was carrying his backpack that held his change of clothes and bailey's heels. thayne had ended up helping bailey decide on the white dress with a pair of nude heels.

"i'm here too," brody quoted a butchered line from newsies to announce that he was there.

"nice, cam," bailey rolled her eyes. "so welcome back or welcome to the jackson five. i'm bailey jackson, the oldest girl of us five, and this is brody jackson, the middle boy and middle child of the five of us. brody and i are both in newsies currently. we were in the broadway production and are about to leave on the first national tour in a week."

"we have three other siblings who run this channel with us plus nine other siblings," brody explained. "bennett is the oldest, he's 23 and is currently playing nick massi in jersey boys."

"bryce and brinley are the other two who run this with us," bailey took the next siblings. "they are twelve and in seventh grade."

"The other siblings are blake who is 11, banks is 10, brooklyn is 9, briggs is 8, bohdi is 7," brody explained as the two stopped outside of the entrance to fifty four below. "we like to call those five the quints because they are all super close in age."

"bronwyn's next, she is five years old," bailey continued. "the last siblings besides us are beckham and brogan, the other set of twins. they are our youngest siblings at age four. now that you're caught up, let's explain what's happening shall we, cam?"
