12. Poisoned

We met up with the boys in front of the portrait.

"Where's Leo?" I asked.

"Idk. He showed up late at night," Jason shrugged.

"Hey guys! Sorry I'm late!" Leo came put of the portrait breathless.

"Okay, does anyone know a like- secret place where we can plan?" Hazel asked.

"Yeah, Sirius and James showed it to me." Percy said.

We followed Percy to the seventh floor. It was now breakfast so the halls were still empty.

Percy walked to a wall and paced three times in front of it. Concentrating hard.

"What the-"

A black metal door started appearing in the wall. My jaw dropped in awe.

"Tadaaaa," Percy said. He opened the door and stepped inside. There was not much in the room. Just a round table with cozy chairs and a few books and parchment papers.

We all sat down around it.

"So, what did Chiron tell you?" Ananbeth asked.

"He said we should start taking action. That we can contact or ask Dumbledore for help anytime. Peter is hiding smth. That is what he and Dumbledore are sure of. Well... it's our duty now to find that out and protect the marauders," Jason explained.

"I am not really fond of Peter, but he's too dumb to be actually up to smth dangerous." Piper said as she took a sip of a drink that was on the table.

"Mmm," she mumbled," Tastes like cinnamon."

"OH SHIT PIPER LEAVE THAT!" Jason shouted as he caught her just in time before collapsing.

"What the-"

"She's been poisoned. SOMEONE FREAKING PUT A POISON IN HER DRINK. SHE'S BEEN FREAKING POISONED." Jason shouted.

"Calm down Jason. We've got to get her to the hospital wing. Now. Before it gets worse," I exclaimed standing up.

"Just- just do smth," Jason said quietly.

Jason carried Piper to the hospital wing. We bumped into Lily and the marauders on the way.

"Shit what happened to her?" Lily asked with concern.

"Poisoned." was the only answer.

"Here, let me help you-" James offered to Jason but he put up a hand.

"No," he said," I can handle it by myself." He kept on walking with Piper mumbling something along the way.

"Sorry about him. He can get kinda angry. As a son of Jupiter his anger can get the better of him. Don't worry he'll come around," Leo explained.

We entered the hospital wing.

Piper was lying in a bed and Jason was sitting in a chair next to her, his head in his hands.

"Oh dear what happened!" A lady in a dress came in running.

"She was poisoned. Someone put something in her drink." Hazel said when Jason didn't answer.

"Oh dear, how much did she drink?" Madam Pompfrey asked as she rushed to a shelf.

"I think just a sip," I said,"She said it tasted like cinnamon and she collapsed." I said with a deep breath.

"You're lucky she didn't drink more. But you all have to leave-"

"Forget it!" Jason said standing up,"I am not leaving this room without seeing her safe and up and laughing again. I'd like to see you convince me otherwise." He crossed his arms, challenge in his eyes.

Madam Pomfrey looked a bit taken aback by his attitude but she ushered us out.

We walked out in silence. I really hope she is fine.

"Whoever did it Imma kick them in the arse," Leo muttered.

"I might not know her well, but that kid has good flying skills, can't risk her not on the team," James said.

Lily slapped him on the shoulder.

"Ow, what was that for?"

"You daft dimbo, the girl's life is on the line and you think of her flying," she said with a look of anger.

"Not what I meant," said James his arms raised in surrender.

Lily walked ahead and started bickering with James.

I whispered to Remus," How are those not together?"

"We wish. Sirius already has their first date planned since third year. But James always has a big... uhh"

"Ego. As I much as I love James he has some inflated ego," Sirius exclaimed,"And as Evans like sto call him, arrogant toerag," he cackled.

On our way, we bumped into Meg.

"Oh hi," she said smiling.

"Try outs are next week , don't forget. I want you on my team." James pointed his index finger at her.

"Yeah, of course," she said.

"Yesterday's training was great, Leo. You want to train tonight?" She turned to Leo.

He rubbed his hand around his neck,"I can't tonight. Homework."

Meg frowned and left.

"That was weird," Sirius muttered.

"I gotta go," Peter said.

"What? Where?"

"Uhh... to the library... I have to uhh... get a book about... uh transfiguration. Yeah," he said and scurried off.

We kept on walking to outside, but I caught Annabeth's eye. Something is definitely wrong.
