I sighed setting my phone on my lap as I looked out the window of the airplane. I sat there looking out at the clouds, my mind going wild with thoughts. I had been hated on and harassed for months since the break up yet I never did anything to warrant such a response. I gave him space when he asked, I never mentioned him or her in a negative way and tried to be as respectful as possible. I had stayed single and tried working through things alone. Yet, somehow, I was the slut, I was the desperate one, I was the evil manipulator.

Charles hadn't received as much as a single question about me online. He hadn't even talked to our friends about the split. When they would try and pry for answers he would change the subject. From what Lily had said, he was living life as if nothing ever happened. As if I never existed and he had always been with Alexandra.

Looking back now I wonder if he had always been with her. The times he told me he was out with friends, did that include her? When he seemed happier than usual, was I not the reason? I was brought back to reality by the pilot announcing that we would be landing shortly.
