Harry Styles - Two Ghosts

~ * * ˏˋˎˊ * * ~

The moon rose high into the night, its pale light reflecting through Rosalie's bedroom window. Unable to fully sleep, she tossed and turned throughout the night. Something was troubling her. Maybe she had thought about Sebastian too much today, more than usual, and his ghost was beginning to haunt her. All she had thought about for the past two and a half years was their last days together: from his messy curls that framed his face to the last touch of his skin. She questioned Merlin each night if she would ever see him again. Rosalie just wanted to know if he was alive. She would even accept a sloppy-written letter with a poor explanation at this point.

With each turn, Willow was growing more aggravated with her movement. She eventually stood up from the bed and jumped onto the floor to lay in the pale moonlight. Rosalie sighed at the disappearance of the irritated cat as she laid awake.

'Maybe another cup of tea would calm my nerves,' she thought.

She rolled over again in her bed and looked at the bright orange-and-white cat bathing itself.

"You can't sleep either?" she asked; Willow continued her bath. "Possibly my fault," she mumbled.

'Must be nice to be a simple little house cat.'

Rosalie turned onto her back and stared at her ceiling. She laid there in silence for another moment, debating if she should force herself asleep or drink another cup of tea.  She listened to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore in the distance through her cracked window.

'Maybe I should've sat by the beach today after all.'

She brought her palms into her eyes. A headache was beginning to form from her lack of sleep and frustration. Her mind was racing with empty thoughts she couldn't bury. It was like she couldn't shut her mind off, and she had to reflect on everything that ever happened in her life. At least she wasn't having nightmares again. Although, she had to actually sleep to experience them.

Rosalie couldn't count the minutes that had passed. Or had it been hours?

But the sleepless night, the headache, and the frustration didn't seem to matter anymore.

Time was of the essence when Rosalie suddenly sat up straight in her bed. She thought she heard a soft knock... but that couldn't be possible. It was extremely late. She looked over to her bedside table to read the clock.

'2:07.'

Rose's eyes wandered over to her cat who was still sitting on the floor. Willow's ears were perked up and she was bushy tailed as she stared at the bedroom door.
