CHAPTER 24 - about you

As soon as I pulled into a parking space near the movie theater, I looked over at Sousuke and already found him looking back at me.

"Sorry—" He mumbles, quickly looking away from me. "I-I um—"
"What's up?"
"It's just that—" He looks back up at me and unbuckles his seatbelt, turning towards me as he leaned his arms on the middle console.

I could feel as my eyes naturally wandered down to his lips before bringing themselves back up into his eyes.

"—no one else has ever held my leg like that before.. so, you're pretty lucky.."
I softly chuckle and tuck some hair behind Sousuke's ear. "I'm honored."

My gaze stayed locked with his as his eyes wandered away, and I noticed that he was quick to look back up at me as soon as he collected his thoughts.

"I think you're really attractive.. but I'm not sure if  I just feel that way because of how much attention I receive from you, or if it really is because you're one of the most attractive guy's I've ever been associated with."
I scoff into a soft smile, closing my eyes and opening them so I can look back at him. "I hope it's the second option."
"I hope so too."
"We can talk more about this in a little bit.. we're already here."
Sousuke nods and reaches back into the backseat to grab his bag, then exits the car and fixes himself as I also get out. "I hope that this movie is as good as you claim it is."
I smile at him from across the car and lock it, waiting for him to get over to me so that we could walk together.
"If it's not, then I can do a really great deed for you or something." I look down at Sousuke and hold a pinky out to him. "I swear on it."
Sousuke smiles softly and links his pinky with mine.

As soon as we made it to the theater, we walked to the ticket counter and purchased our two tickets then continued to on to the concession stand and got in line.

"Kou.. this movie sounds scary, and you know how much I loathe scary movies."
"It's not scary, trust me. I'm not that desperate to get you close to me."
"Are you gonna buy me my snacks then?"
I raise my eyebrows a bit and look down at him. "Do you not have money?"
He shakes his head. "Not that much anyway.. I only have my coin pouch with me."
I then softly sigh and smile before putting a hand on his head. "Fine.. what do you want?"
"I want a drink and some candy."I blink as I feel Sousuke put a thing of candy against my chest. "Now I have to go to the restroom, I'll be right back."
"Sure." I watch him walk off to the bathroom before looking to my left, getting a strange feeling in my chest.

I couldn't help but feel on edge.. almost as if there were eyes on me.

I then looked to my right, scanning the side of the lobby that I was looking at.

There was nothing..

Weird.

Once I made it to the counter I set Sousuke's candy down and looked up at the menu.
"Hello! How may I help you?"
"Yeah, can I please have two medium drinks and then a small popcorn please?"
"Of course! And will that be all?"
"Yeah, that's good." I glance back to my left side again as I pull my wallet out of my pocket, paying the needed amount swiftly and stepping out of the way.

Sousuke eventually made it back to me, and I was starting to wonder if I should tell him how I was feeling or if I should just keep my mouth shut. I didn't want to freak him out, but I also.. didn't want to freak him out.

"If you get a chance you have to go check out the family bathroom. It's probably one of the nicest ones I've ever been in."I smile and watch as he fills up his cup with an icee.
"Alright, I'll be sure to keep that in mind. Why use the family bathroom though? I'm surprised you didn't receive stares for going in there."
"Why would I? The family bathroom is open to everyone. And besides, I don't trust the men's bathroom. I feel shameful for going in there."
"Really? I don't think anyone would really mind if they saw you going in there."
"Sure they would. Just think of it this way.. imagine you're some poor, middle-aged man who has never seen anyone like me before. You're like, 40 or 50 years old with a family to feed and bills to pay and you see the most sorry excuse of a man walk in there and use the bathroom right next to you. You probably wouldn't really like what you saw and would probably think that I'm just some creepy and perverted chick."
"I guess you have a point. I don't think I'd know what to do if I saw a femme shortie like you walk in there." I smile as Sousuke lightly hits my arm.
"You are so not funny."
"I conquer to be honest with you."
"Conquer? What are you, an old man?"
"Hey, I'm just sophisticated. There's a difference."
"Is that what we're calling it?" Sousuke raises an eyebrow up at me as we start making our way to the theater.
"Ha ha ha ha.." I glance back behind us once more, getting a quick scan of the lobby before we actually make it to our theater and take a seat.
