CHAPTER 9 - weak for your love

I glanced over at Kou as he continued to scribble on his stack of sticky notes like he always does while I completely disregard the lesson we were meant to be learning right now, since it was all stuff that I already knew beforehand.

It was the Friday before the Halloween party that Kou mentioned, so we had planned to go and get things for our costumes after school let out. Maybe party's are just one the many perks I'll be getting this year for being associated with someone that everyone likes.

I glance down at my phone in my lap after feeling it suddenly buzz against my legs, and I saw a notification from Kou messaging me.

MESSAGES
[fat idiot] : What are you gonna go as for Halloween? I'm thinking awesome vampire for me.

I click on the notification and read his message again once it takes me to our texting conversation. He then sends a silly little vampire GIF that made me softly laugh a bit. The response I gave him was fairly quick since I didn't want the teacher getting onto us, considering we were both clearly looking down at something that clearly wasn't the projection board in the front of the classroom.

[sousuke] : y a vampire ?? thats so insanely basic

[fat idiot] : I have the teeth for the part, and vampires are just awesome! 😺

He then sent a GIF of an angel.

[fat idiot] : I think you should be this, it's good irony. 😸

[sousuke] : u n ur cat emojis i swear
[sousuke] : but ur so not funny
[sousuke] : y do ur teeth look that way anyway

[fat idiot] : They were made this way when I was little.. never bothered to get them fixed.

[sousuke] : dont they annoy u ?

[fat idiot] : Nah, not as much as you might think. I grew up with them so I'm used to them.

[sousuke] : interesting
[sousuke] : rlly cant imagine biting ur lip w those things tho

[fat idiot] : Heard that, haha. I be careful for sure even though I'm so used to having them like this.

[sousuke] : its pretty unique how they grew that way .. ive never heard of it

I then notice that he responded to one of his messages earlier with his new message. My bad, guess I can't read.

[fat idiot] : It's because they didn't grow this way.
[fat idiot] : I can give you the background if you're down to learn some facts about me.

[sousuke] : depends if theyre boring
[sousuke] : kidding

[fat idiot] : Haha....

I then felt him nudge my leg softly with his foot and get a little soft smile on his face once I looked over at him. He didn't break eye contact with his phone though as he texted, so I just looked back down at my phone as I got my own little smile on my face.

[fat idiot] : I've told you I'm an exorcist, yeah?
[fat idiot] : Fingers crossed I have.

[sousuke] : yah dw u have
[sousuke] : imagine

[fat idiot] : Literally, I got scared for a second haha.
[fat idiot] : Well anyway—blood is useful to exorcists, and sharp teeth are much more convenient than anything else since we have them all the time.
