(Haru's POV.)
It's been a week since the event with the girl, and during that time period I'm happy to say that I'm adjusting well to working with Roboco, it felt weird to me having her suddenly turn up one day as my partner at the police office but now, kinda feels like I can't really function normally at work without her with me. Not like me Roboco, nor Subaru-san was complaining.
We were working on a report about a recent METALMAW related incident that occurred three days ago, to summarize it was basically another attack on a rival drug dealer, seems Mister Kirito Seito is desperate to be the number one drug supplier in town. On the bright side that means if we take him down, there's gonna be no drug dealers left in Tokyo since he had them all killed.
I stretched out my limbs after I was done with the report, groaning and yawning while Roboco was sitting next to me and watching me work.
"You okay Haru? You've been working nonstop all day now..." Roboco asked me, concern evident in her tone. I could only smile in response to that question. "I'm fine... Gotta finish this up today..." I replied before groaning one last time and getting back to work.
As I went back to work, Roboco hummed before she spoke up again. "Mmm... Wanna go have dinner somewhere after this?" She asked with a warm smile on her face, a smile full of motherly energy if there ever was one."Sure." I simply responded, smiling back at her before my gaze crashed down back to my work. Can't wait for this to be over...
An eternity passes and I finally finished the report, after handing that out to chief Kaito I got up, got out, and started walking with Roboco. Hand in hand as I let her drag me to wherever she wanted us to eat at."Mmm... We're here." She says, I took a moment to actually look at the place. Somekind of family restaurant, cool.
We went inside and the owner immediately greets us, or more specifically, greets Roboco, that tells me she's been here before.
We were led to our table and seated after Roboco and the owner had some small talk, pretty normal casual stuff. Though I could've sworn I heard one of the waitresses talking about us being out on a date from the corner of my eye.Once we sat down, we looked at the menu, placed our orders, and started waiting. I was mostly looking out of the window which gave a nice view of the streets outside, nothing much going on, just a few cars passing by under a single streetlight.
As I was looking though, my attention ended up landing on a single car that was parking in the street in front of some dark alleyway, and I watched as a group of men exited and went into the alleyway, hmmmm... Feels kinda shady, my guard is raised even higher by the fact this surrounding area is pretty well known for having a lot of drug related operations.Curious about what's going on, I stood up. "Stay here, I'll just check on something real quick." I told Roboco before I walked out of the establishment, moving past the car and into the alleyway.
Once I got there, the place was as dark and emoty as ever, no obvious signs that someone went here. Now I was suspicious.
I strained my ears, listening for noise, any noise. And I could hear a very faint conversation coming from the back door of a building, one that was supposed to be abandoned. Now I'm really suspicious. What's going on in there..?I quietly went over and got down on the ground, peering through the slit in the door to see what was going on, unsurprisingly I couldn't see anything beyond the shoes of the people there but I could hear their conversations more clearly.
"So, is all this stuff ready to go?"
"Yeah, that bot that Seito-san hired took out that one dealer around the block, we should be able to sell all this stuff quickly, and easily."
"Haha... We'll make a killing from this. You sure we got enough of this stuff?"
"What stuff? Meth? Yeah should be enough to fill a bank."
