(Roboco's POV.)
"Easy there... Don't move for a bit." Haru tells me as did his repairs on me at the station. Currently my left arm was removed, lightly damaged from a bullet hitting my shoulder earlier, and Haru was busying himself cleaning out fragments of the bullet lodged in the shoulder actuator.
"Luckily still perfectly combat capable, but holy hell, the motor is still pretty damn warm even now." I could only chuckle sheepishly at that, it was all I could do after realizing I was probably really close to literally setting myself on fire from overexertion.
"Don't ever make me worry like this again." Haru demanded, wiping away whatever dust was left on my arm before he reattached it to my body. I flexed my arm a few times, testing it along with a systems scan to see how everything was going. "Mhm... Okay..." I responded, not in a position to argue.
Haru responded by leaning in, pressing his lips against mine in a quick, tender kiss before he pulled back, a warm smile on his face despite the mess we went through. "Sap." I said, leaning on his shoulder and enjoying this brief respite in the office. "Get a room, you two. We're at work." Ame remarked, a mixture of annoyance and amusement in her tone.
I just giggled in response to that, anything helps in this serious problem, even moments like this. "Give us a break, Ame." Haru replied, running his fingers through my hair. "We barely got out with our lives from that." I didn't really bother to listen to the other things he said, I just wanted to rest like this and let myself cool down.
"Anyways, meet me at my desk in an hour. We have a ton to discuss on what to do next." Ame added, turning on her heels and walking away afterwards. "For now get some rest, it's gonna be overtime for both of you most likely." Great... Just what I wanted to do today, I couldn't help the sigh that escaped me at that.
"Chin up... Don't like seeing you like that." Haru says, it was cheesy yes, but it got me smiling again. "That sounds so cliché." I responded, earning a light elbow smack to the chest from him. "Oi... Just wanted to see you smile again." He clapped back, earning a giggle from me. "And it worked, darling." The pet name took him completely off-guard, and I got to see him blush. A rare sight. "You're the sap here for that..." The blush on his face though...
"If it makes you blush cutely like this, then it's worth it, hehe..." I teased, leaning even more against his shoulder. "It's like a bright light in the dark tunnel we're in." My line was corny again, but it made Haru blush even harder, clearly flustered now.
"Oi, I hate to interrupt your sweet time but it's time for that discussion." Ame called out from across the office, signaling the end of the teasing, much to Haru's relief but much to my dismay. "Sorry, didn't wanna be the killjoy." She added, though I quickly sucked it up as we stood up and walked up to Ame's desk.
Once we were there, pulled several office chairs and sat down at Ame's desk as the blonde detective typed vigorously on her computer. "So, seems Kirito Seito really wants both of you gone." Ame started up, to which we just hummed in response.
"Mind reminding me what his motive is again, Roboco-senpai?" She asked me, turning her attention away from her PC to look at us more intently. I took a deep breath and shifted uncomfortably in my seat before I started up.
"... Fourteen years ago, the mastermind behind one of the largest crime syndicates in Tokyo, Kirito Seito had finally been arrested, and he was the first person in Japan to have been arrested by an android. And I was the android who had done so." I stopped there, earning a hum from Ame. "Guess you dipped your socks too deep in the wrong detergent." She remarked, typing through her computer again.
