"And if she doesn't want to?" Sabina asks.

Cailyn turns to me, eyes wide, "please!!!!!!!"

"I can't ride..." I say. "And how could you get me to do it in time?"

"Kethan is amazing, he can totally teach you." Cailyn says.

I sigh in defeat m, "if he says okay."

Cailyn pumps her fist, "yes!!!"

After school ended we all pilled back into the cramped truck and pulled out of the school parking lot.

It took us a second to weave the truck through the giant hoard of kids, but soon we finally made it.

As soon as we pulled into the driveway and parked, I walked as fast as I could to my bedroom and closed the door. I needed time to myself.

Pulling out my head phones I put on my happy playlist and turned it up. Laying down on my bed I hear the floor creak and Max jumps on the bed resting his head by my foot.

I hear the door open even more and I look up to see Kethan standing in the doorway.

"If you're going to learn to ride horses again before the contest we'll need to start now" he says. "We will need all the time we can get."

The stables consisted of twenty-two stalls. And even more horses roamed the patterns and fields.

As we walked in we were looking through the stalls when in see Miles in one. He was brushing down a sandy colored mare.

He squints looking up when he hears us, "what's are you both doing here?"

"Riding lessons" Kethan says.

"You're teaching her?" Miles asks raising an eye brow.

"Yes, what's so wrong about that?" Kethan asks.

"Just wonder why she'd choose you when we all know I'm the better rider." Miles says.

Kethan scowls, "says who?"

"Me" Miles sets down his brush and walks out of the stall closing the door behind him. I had to look away from his legs slightly limp.

"Fine" Kethan says. Crossing his arms he says, "if you're so amazing. Teach her in one month."

"I only need three weeks" Miles says.

"Deal" Kethan holds up his hand and Miles shakes it.

What just happened.

Miles lead me to the tack room where he dug out a dusty saddle that hadn't been washed in what seemed like ages and carried it got the hallway. He then got some reins and did the same thing.

"Here" he hands me a rag.

I give him a weird look, "what's this?"

"You said you'd ride" he said. "Our dad always made us do all of the work to get the fun. You're going to clean your own tack and get the fun later." He looks down at his watch, "better hurry. It's going to take us a lot of work if we're going to make you a good enough rider before the contest. Chop chop." He then turned his back to me and walked away.

Letting put an another huff I get to work, looking up to Max who followed me outside. Ever since Jake died he's followed me everywhere. I guess he missed him just as much as I did.

After about an hour of scrubbing the saddle it was ready and shining.

"Not shining like the stars yet?" Raiden walks up.
