As we got to the class she looks around and smile, "Lucky you. Kethan's in here. Let's ask if he'll sit with you." Before I could protest she was already walking up to him. "Kethan."

He looks up from his book. "Hmm?" His eyes only glance at me before looking back to her.

"Can Esme sit by you?" She asks. Her voice was normal but I could see a look in her eyes like saying, 'listen to me'.

"Sure" he nods.

"Good, see you Esme." She walked out before I could say anything.

I turn to Kethan, "you don't have to sit by me if you don't want to."

"No, it's fine."he moved his stuff out of the way.

Sitting down I look to his book, "Are you reading to kill a mockingbird?!"

He looks at me giving me a funny look, "yea... why?"

"So am I" I hold up my book for him to see.

"You read a lot?" He asks.

"You should see my room', I still have a few boxes I t he corner full of books that need unpacked." I grin. I loved to show off the amount of books I had.

Kethan grins, "how come have you come over every summer and i didn't know you loved books too?"

I shrug, "No clue." He was right though. I had never really spoken to him during the summers I'd go to visit. Mainly to Miles and a little to Raiden and Jace.

When the bell rang I was picking up my books when I asked, "quick question, where's Biology?"

He looks down at my paper, "oh. It's right down the hall if you turn left, three doors down."

I smile in relief, "thank you."

As I walked to the classroom I sit at an empty table. Since I was early I opened my book to read.

"Hey" looking up from my book I see a red bead girl looking down at me. Her eyes were a brown and her cheeks dimpled when she smiled.

"Hi" I say.

"You're new, right?" She asks. I nod. "Where from?"

"Chicago" I say.

"I'm Cailyn" she says.

"Esme" I answer.

"Do you do any sports or clubs?" She asks me plopping down into a seat.

I shake my head, "I was homeschooled before this."

"I ride at the stables" Cailyn says. "My horse is the sweetest thing ever."

Another girl comes and sits down. She pushed her dark hair out of her face when she said, "hey Cailyn."

"Hey Sabina" Cailyn says

"Hey Sabina" Cailyn says. "This is Esme."

I give a shy wave.

"You're the girl that moved in with the Grayson's, right?" Sabina asks. I nod.

Cailyn turns to me, eyes wide, "you moved in with the Greysons?!"

"Yes..." I say. I was confused why she was so surprised.

"What  it like?" She asks.

"What's what like?" I ask.

"Living with Miles and his siblings?" she says.

"She just moved in" Sabina says.

"What's so cool about living with them?"I ask. What could be so cool about a family that lives in the middle of nowhere?

Cailyn looks at me, "with the drama."

My brows narrow, "Drama?"

"The drama about the accident." Cailyn says.

Thoughts? What do you think the accident is?
