After falling off the horse for the thirtieth time in the last hour I heaved out a faint sigh. "This isn't working."

"Try harder" Miles sat by the fence, watching. A earbud in one ear. "Put less focus into holding the reins and hug the saddle more."

I let out another sigh as I mount the saddle for what feels like the thousandth time and start a trot.

I turned around the horse and walked her back, "I'm doing it!"

"Good!" He calls back. "Now kick your legs and go a bit faster!"

I do as he says and my horse starts to speed up.

I was finally getting a hang of it and I hear a screech and I turn to see Billy and Benji come running. In a flash I see a tiny donkey running after them.

Miles jumps up from his spot by the fence and sprints for them

Miles jumps up from his spot by the fence and sprints for them. He then wrangles the donkey to the ground making it screech.

That's when the horse I was riding started to get antsy. And then he bolted!

I held on for dear life as I tried to stop the horse. He bolted through the arena door and to the woods. I could hear Miles yelling but it was mainly drowned out by the breaking branches as loud thumps of hooves.

We got to a small clearing when the horse reared back and I feel to the ground. Then the horse flead off to the woods. I sat up and called for him but it was no use, he was gone.

Trying to stand I gasp as pain shoots through my ankle. It really hurt.

I looked up to the sky to see it slowly darken. All day it had been really cloudy, so there was a big chance it would rain. Curse the people who decided it would be a good day to rain.

Slowly I heaved myself up, I knew what to do. Brother being in the army and all had its perks. Like him teaching me a few survival skills. Including navigation.

I look around for the way we came. We did a lot of turns when my horse was running but that meant we could be any direction from the house. So I'd just have to follow the path before the rain ruined it.

Quickly I grab a long log to use as a stick to help walk I begin my trek following the horse hooves. I counted ten minutes until I felt a rain drop. Oh no.

I quickened my pace as I follow the trail, the small broken branches from bushes abd some trees everywhere. Then I was lead to a river bank. No trail in sight.

I groaned to myself. I was horrible when it came to re finding a trail.

Carefully I step out onto a rock, almost slipping. Thankfully I regained my posture and stepped to the next one. One more.

Made it. Now I had to get to the other side of the bank.

I got ready to leap...
